Wasn't beating up on the Lee, its all I have and I can make it work .

No problem. I didn't think you were beating up on the Lee. From what I have learned it all comes down to knowing the Lee Press inside and out. The "experts" have them running like a Swiss watch. I guess it will take me some time to get to that level. :D

Spilling powder on the carpet would be a problem. Clean up would be messy.
 
I love the top on that one. Did you make it yourself? Its a work of art in itself! It would be hard to drill holes in it:p

i can't answer for him but i did my surface just like that, its pretty easy to do

1.you need enough 2x4 to cover the surface you want
2. make sure corners are real square (don't know for you but when I buy 2x4 corners are round, used a bench saw to take off those round corners)
3. Take two 2x4 get them togheter with carpenter glue and then make sure they're kept tight until glue dries
4. repeat process adding a third 2x4 to the two you already have togheter
5. and so on
 
I know what you mean about laminating 2x4 but I wanted hardwood for a tougher surface. Plus I am too lazy and time is $$$. I also have 6 coats of Varathane.

The monitor is just a TV but that isn't a bad idea about a security monitor. I do have a couple of spare bullit cameras kicking around.
 
Hey guys.

Was at Costco tonight and saw a roll cab toll box. 55" long. 37" high. Don't remember how wide it was..............

It has a hard wood top that is 1 1/2" thick. Looked like a good sturdy place for mounting a press on. Unfortunately there is no link.

For Costco outta the U.S. they have a gorgeous steel frame bench with a hard wood top.
 
Not bad but for $490CAD or what was it you saw it for?

Mine cost about $300 with a 1.5" birch top which was $230 of the 300. Plus mine is 8' long and now I wish it was 10'

Still curious as to what price you saw it for. Prices on Costco online seem to vary allot from actual in store prices. Maybe it is a good deal.
