We're pleased to announce the limited release of VZ58 rear peep sights. We have made 15 of these to test the Canadian market if they sell then we will invest in the dies to make a production version. They will come with a slightly modified slide ready to install.

These will be the only ones of this design made and we're selling them at a loss @ $70 each. They are of an excellent quality and make a huge difference in target acquisition. These units are currently being sent to the coaters and should be ready to ship with the rest of our initial offerings early next week.

Here is a picture of the sight during production, final versions are complete with range markings etc.

I will post a picture of the final product when they come back from the coaters. Either way there are only 15 and they will go very fast, production versions will be somewhat different and require raising of the front sight post which this will will not. If you want us to put your name on the short list then email me sean@rauchtactical.com.

i prefer the OEM sight personally. I find the peep sights arnt useable in low light. Thants one of the reasons i dont hunt with my m14 anymore.

looks nice, but $70 would be more than i would want to spend if i did want one.

What are these actually like to use? The aperture seems quite small considering it's going to be far away from your eye.

Thats what I was thinking. Peeps don't work so well that far from your eye... and I'd be skeptical as to is effectivness in low light. That said, the OEM version isn't very good in low light either.

Thanks Obi, the production version will be significantly different then these, I'm not gonna let the cat our of the bag right now. Your sights will be sent to you very shortly though.

Like I said anyone who wants a unique piece for their VZ58 should speak up now cause when they're gone they're gone.

Obi actually came up with the concept for these and we worked together for development, and I am very impressed with them. I can't say as I have used them in low light but during normal conditions they are a huge improvement over original. The target is much easier to acquire and everything seems to stay in focus much clearer, cant explain why?
Not the best pic but you will get the idea.

they are superior in all lighting conditions. The aperture is larger than a receiver mounted one would be, allowing more light transfer. Sights like this are very popular on ak's and sks's here in the states.

Reviews for those are good, can't see why these vz ones wouldn't work good as well.

These look very well made and I do like the look of it. But I wont buy one.

I prefer a more open sight picture and have grown quite fond of the factory sights.

I used a similar sight made by williams on an SKS before and found it accurate, but that it often obscured what I was trying to aim at and slowed down sighting up on a target. Now that was just an SKS and I actually take my VZ seriously. Maybe I am a minority there, but the only aftermarket sight I would buy would have tritium inserts and would otherwise replicate the OEM sights.

Yep they should be ready for shipping late next week. This week we'll be doing final inspections and sorting out who is on the short list If anyone is thinking about them you should send me an email before friday cause any that we have left after that have been spoken for.

Sweet.

Does this include the little slider to adjust the elevation that is on my VZ or do I have to take it off and put it on the new one ?

Thanks.

I like peeps!
