Our Soft Body Armor Policy

If someone by the work of the law needs a license to buy a product, so be it.

If that person lacks that license, no sale should ever be permitted.

Unregulated items are unregulated items.

Just remember who buys for the most value in your store, civies or else.

I understand their policy, I don't agree with it but it's their buisness.

I've had AWSOME service from Daves and while I would like to think I could purchase armor there, I can't and so I'll make THAT purchase elsewhere. I'll still purchase other items there.

I'll still be recommending Daves to others.

My question still has not been answered. How exactly does not selling myself or pretty much any other legal gun owner body armor protect anyone?

Businesses have a right to restrict; consumers have a right to spend money elsewhere.

Police and ambulance attendants are supported by the rest of us law-abiding people working our brains and asses off making legitimate income. To assume that one law-abiding group is more entitled to protection than another is pious at the very least.

Westicle, if you'd like to continue talking about testes, you know what really would take balls? It would take the owner balls to look at the greater issue here and revise his policy, going against his 'gentleman's agreement' with law enforcement. That would take balls.

It doesn't take many balls to go into his store with a big taxpayer-backed credit card and a badge, and make a gentle 'recommendation' to the owner of a store to stop selling to the average taxpayer. That doesn't take balls.

Wes, do you think law enforcement should be held to a lower standard of law and punishment than a law-abiding taxpayer? The same standard? A higher standard?

I don't give a rat's a$$ about body armour, but the simple fact that you would refuse to sell it to an unimportant plumber like me is enough to make me pissed right off.

I hope you enjoy a lucrative living selling to "the man" who, by the way, makes his living from the taxes we sheep are paying.

EAT SH*T, liberal. <----- stay civil people - or you will get an infraction point just like this! Your dear admin GT

See what your policy has done? It turned a nice guy into an infraction getter.
Gee whiz, Dave, your policy of making the authorities feel better in exchange of freedom of honest citizens has made me feel darned yucky.

Pretty pathetic policy. CarbonRod i guess all the site sponsors should stop selling ARs and handguns because as the Liberals put it what possible use could anyone besides LEO/Mil have for these "weapons".
Daves butchered both of my orders from them, worth a couple hundred each, never answered my emails and even butchered my order over the phone when I called to ask what was going on.
Lots of other supporting sponsors to do business with.

No they should not, and a pretty clear legitimate reason has been illustrated for having an AR-15, and some handguns outside of LE use. There is a really good why we can have an AR thread on this. ARs have been used in competition for years. Have vests been? Seriously. If they have, you should argue this point. If they have not, and this is really a serious issue for you, you should start a competitive vest league of some sort.

For everyone one of these businesses that do this sort of thing you have to think who is next? When does it end? Eventually if I wanted or needed such a product there would be no business out there that would supply it to me and that is a darn shame.

And how many gang bangers wear body armor? I know the legitimate uses for ARs and Handguns, I own both, I'm simple comparing this policy with the Liberal mindset of making law abiding citizens feel like criminals.

so figure the average price of body armor is $1000, how many of you where really going to buy it ??

frankly thats a lot of money and I would rather buy ammo with it :)

But we have a duty to our end users to keep them safe and out of harms way.

No. You don't. You have a duty to sell #### to whomever you want to, and to not sell to whomever you want to. Don't try and justify this nonsense by playing us all for stupid and chalking it up to safety. This is liberal bull#### and you are spoon feeding it to us. It's bad enough that we have to put up with this from the antis but to have suppliers bite the hand that feeds them?

Who gave YOU the mandate to "keep them safe"? That's right, no one. Your just a peddler.

Do or don't sell to whomever you want, but don't lie to us in a vain attempt to relieve your guilty conscience. If you want to kick your customers in the balls, it is your prerogative, but please be man enough to be honest about it.

Glad to see no one is attacking D.S.T. directly. Some good discussion on their policy. :) We can be adults after all.....
Maybe we should get the 'other' retailers involved too.
What is the basis for their policy decisions? Are they willing to change it? ,etc.
Kinda feel bad for Colin stepping out and taking the heat......

edit:....great...I guess someone (dvr) got mad @ D.S.T before I posted

I think daves is going to pretty busy the next few days... there going to be doing a mass mailout of soothers for the cry babies in the thread.

:D :D :D :D
I hope you shoot better than you joke, Wes.

There's only one side of this issue that is for whining babies, and it's not the side of the law-abiding taxpayer.

Insider secret, Wes: Criminals get whatever gear, drugs, cars, etc. by whatever means they want. They're criminals. Why does this not get through to people; perhaps I'll never know.
