From all the honor sponsors of this site,
does anybody bring Timney triggers in Canada?
If so, would anybody please bring in
the new Timney 10/22 drop-in trigger already? Please...?

It's a drop-in trigger featuring an encased unit
that fits inside the trigger case on a 10/22
(in the same way a Chip McCormick fits inside an AR15 lower).

The manufacturer sells it for $150,
but some US retailers sell for $120.
That means there is a large difference
between the suggested retail prices and the dealer prices.

I would also love to try one of those, but seeing as it says they aren't shipping until february I wouldn't expect to see them in this country to soon. Hopefully they function as good as they look. :ar15:

Oooops, I didn't notice the "february" thing before.
That would be fine, giving the importers time to order.

Sorry, not ignoring rimfire at all. Been busy answering PM's, etc and bringing in all sorts of goodies for members.

Looking at stocks and barrels options for 10/22s. Maybe some other stuff depending on interests.

The new Timney 10/22 trigger group is something I can access. However, there is no one at Timney to access as they have all gone to SHOT.

Odds are I will not hear on availability until Feb.

As of today, my dist does not list this product. Yeah, that new. So we wait.

I cannot list pricing, etc here as this is not an exchange forum so pm me if interested. Got in hot water the last time I did an announcement here so not always easy to get the word out.

Working on expanding my presence in the dealer announcements so I can show more of the stuff I can offer. Access to stuff is simply a function of the US rules and of course, member interest.

I didn't know about that rule, I'll have to keep it in mind.

Jerry I've heard of a MOA base being made for the 10/22 (not sure by who), have you heard of it? I would be interested in one so I could replace my BRNO as my "long range" :D 22lr rig.
 
Well, I sure got the gears so alot of potential stuff just never gets out there. Unless members start reading dealer sections.

Simple way would be to get a set of Burris rings. Would get you at least 30 more mins of up when using 1" rings

Another option would be a pic style or weaver one piece base and just shim it manually. Some steel shim stock and epoxy bedding and voila, good to go.

Will do some snooping and see what I can find.

Thanks Jerry - I'll check out the Burris rings. I'm also interested in the Timney triggers. I think an MOA base would be the cats A$$ though!

Thanks for taking your time to look into this.
The thing I said about "ignoring" the rimfire was only a joke.

I do not believe you can get in trouble if you simply answer
some questions about availability, pricing, etc.
Ultimately, satisfying the interests of the shooters' community
is the purpose of all this, is it not?

I am VERY interested in this trigger, PM to follow.
As seen before in this thread, some other people are as well.

Quick impression about this trigger as seen at SHOT, from another site:
I had the opportunity to examine this trigger at the Shot Show and even spoke with the engineer who designed it. It's a complete drop-in trigger/hammer unit just like in the photo in the above link. The pivot points for the trigger and the hammer are hollow pins which allow the unit to be secured in the trigger guard with the standard ruger pins.

The unit is non-adjustable, with the exception, if I recall, of the trigger return spring. The hammer spring is the AR15 style. You can see the safety leg in the photo in the link. The bolt lock spring is incorporated into the unit. I believe the engineer said that you have to position the bolt lock (B-41) beside the Timney trigger unit and install them together, then slip the bolt lock spring into the slot on the bent leg of the bolt lock. I believe this spring serves a dual purpose as the trigger return spring also. (I didn't get a look at the inside workings, so I'm not 100% sure on that one.)

I was also able to dry fire a Ruger 10/22 with the unit installed. I'm sure that the pull weight was very close to the advertised 2-1/2 lbs. It was very crisp with no detectable take up, no detectable creep, and no overtravel. The engineer said that these are all preset and nonadjustable. I dry fired it five or six times just to get the feel of it. Apply steady pressure and it just trips... you don't feel anything else. At 2-1/2 lbs. it's not going to behave like a 2 oz. benchrest trigger, but I think it will be great for the casual bench shooting that most of us do, as well as plinking and hunting.

The trigger itself is the curved style and consists of a smaller blade with a trigger shoe installed on it via two 1/16" roll pins. The shoe is available in several anodized colors. We did inquire about the availability of a straight trigger blade, but they are not available at this time. It was noted by the engineer that installing a straight blade trigger shoe would create a very thick trigger front to back. (It looked to me like a flat trigger would require a redesign of the base trigger blade.)

My impression is that it's a very good trigger. I'd love to have one to play with.

it's an interesting design but for the price. not interested. not for that price anyways. it might have been a better design and maybe worth the $$ with an adjustable trigger.
 
The latest from my dist.

Timney is swamped trying to keep up with reg. stocked items for US customers.

From the dist point of view, they are shelving the 10/22 trigger groups until their reg. orders get caught up. I am also assuming that delivery timing pricing can't be confirmed from Timney.

So for the moment, can't get pricing or ETA.

Best they could tell me was check back in a couple of months or when things calm down.

Will keep trying...

No, I made a post with some updates including the timney and promag archangle kit. Full review on the archangle coming shortly.

Anyways, the first batch of trigger production is getting done in June. Then there is testing then packaging, then distribution. Thinking late June/July before any hit any dist. From there, it should be pretty quick to get to dealers.

As of right now, my dist has not confirmed if they will pick up this product or not. I had requested PM's viewing interest only so I could tell my dist. There is no indicated pricing nor available volume.

This is not for orders but simply interest. From this info, my dist can decide if there is interest to create another sku.

For us, it seems crazy that carrying this product would not be a given but when you have a few thousand skus and more items coming at you, you make choices.

Let's give them a reason to say yes....
