Sten gun trash or treasure??

how about a few more photos, maybe taken down too. maybe a shot of the reg slip too :)

I assure you that mine is legally registered as a restricted firearm. It is a legitimately manufactured semi auto with an FRT. Not sure why people find that so hard to believe?

It is WAY cool though! .. that I can promise you!

:)

So Spencer has managed to actually transfer some of his guns? Interesting. I'd give my left nut to know what FRT number he has registered them under b/c as far as the CFO has been able to tell me (I also make these) - there are no approved open bolts yet.

when is the bolt mentioned on the fart?

The FRT entry describes the firearm in some detail. May include photos. The information in ther FRT and in the Registry is much more extensive than that which appears on a Registration Certificate. So far, the only known FRT number for a newly made in Canada Sten is the entry for the SAS design, as initially submitted by Stencollector.
It is very odd that the good folks at the RCMP in Ottawa have no knowledge of a FRT number for a new made open bolt Sten, yet here are new open bolt Stens being sold and transferred.
That is the reason for the inquiry. Are these guns registered as SAS guns (which they are most definitely not)? Are they registered as SAS receivers, even though they are assembled as complete non-SAS firearms.
Of course Marstar has been selling the SSD open bolt semis for some time. They submitted the guns for inspection, and were awarded FRT numbers for each of them.
There is a process to obtain the unique FRT number for any newly designed firearm.
I sincerely hope that Claven2, "Spencer", whoever, do obtain a FRT number for an open bolt new Sten. I know for a fact that Claven2's application is in process. "Spencer", posting here under whatever name he from time to time uses, has never been anything other than sly, evasive and devious. He knows that if he posts the FRT number he used to register these guns - the Mk. III with the original mag. housing; the II/III hybrid; the one shown here with the PPSh magazines; the Suomi; the Mk. V, the numbers can be immediately confirmed. It will become instantly apparent whether or not he has been playing silly buggers with the CFC.

now on a side note , does anyone have contact info for the person at the cfc that takes care of these sort of things. iv put together a proposal.

This is not the first time a sten has been adapted to take a drum. A prototype was built at Long Branch during WW2. The designer was a Pole called Rościszewski.
