PAL "in progress"

From the date of mailing it (registered mail; be smart and do it that way your proprietary information is your life) to the date of receiving my card was 41 days. I was approved the day after the waiting period. Got the card in the mail 13 days later. No references called. While I cannot prove it, and I don't know for sure, having things like a passport, previous bonds with the government, previous background checks to work for the government, and fingerprinting (I was in the military 1/2 a lifetime ago) and the obvious lack of a criminal record I think are a shoe-in for a rapid deployment of your PAL. If you're already in the Federal system for good reasons for one reason or another, chances are the steps to getting to the finish line will be less.

it also depends on if you're "in the system" or not- ie had pol or something else- in my case, i was "registered" since about 73 or so, so i had a bunch of "green cards" as well as a pol( followed the rules when that came in) so the data was already there- ie it was a simple upgrade- no typing involved- i got it in about 2 weeks-

What can I say, a positive attitude, and a smile can get you a lot futher in life than demands and threats. You catch more flies with honey than with ####. Good Luck, i'm off to buy a gun or two, 3, wait, omg so little time so many guns.........ill just buy one today and maybe just maybe 2 more tomorrow, after that who knows maybe ill post some pictures, life is good.

Well someone at the CFC transfered me over to the BC CFO but I was put on hold for 45 minutes without even a computer telling me to wait.

It's been 55 days now since they RECEIVED my application along with a couple friends' applications....

My application was received on Dec. 19th. Do they count 28 days from the date it's received or one day after it's received? Jan 16th would actually be 29 days if the first day is counted..

Has anyone successfully received their PAL # from CFC before physically receiving the card in the mail? I could get the transfer done and have my new firearms shipped if this is possible.

Anton

Well after talking with the friends who also applied, the BC CFO STILL hasn't contacted ANY of our references....

Tried called the CFO office again and was on hold again for an hour without anyone answering....

Well as of today, the online application status check was updated to report the following:

Current Status: Your application has been processed and your licence has been issued. If you have not received your licence within 2 weeks please contact the Canada Firearms Centre Toll Free number. (1-800 731-4000)

Today was 29 days after my application was received.

I'm on the 42nd day I think, they got it on the Dec 5th. Still waiting for any phone calls if they're coming. I'll call em next week if something hasn't changed, and I'm in AB.
