Russian SKS45 long thread.

Questions...

So I understand these guns from Frontier are re-furbished and may have laminated stocks and what not. What is my best bet to get a hardwood and blued Russian version that hasn't been painted?
 
I've got a question, which may have already been asked.. For those of us that ordered for SIR, what would be an expected grand total after shipping and taxes (if we do get for original posted price).

Is this gonna be significantly cheaper than me driving 10 minutes to Al Simmons?

The question you should be asking is if SIR ever gets any what will they cost .
If you can drive 10 min & pick out the one you want You would be crazy not to

The back order letter I received from SIR nine months ago showed a total with shipping and taxes of $199.96
If you want to make sure you get a rifle, definitely drive over to Al Simmons and pick one out.

Do you think SIR would contact the people who pre-ordered or at least post it on their site if they were not getting any rifles? A little communication to the customers would be great right about now. I'm assuming they don't want to lose anymore potential customers until their deal is good and dead. I'm usually an optimist but lately I've been losing faith in the SIR deal.
 
I bet they will eventually come up with some BS that they were unable to secure their shipment at the original price & instead of upsetting those that have already ordered at their advertised price by increasing it they have canceled the order . But in reality they probably cant get any because the importers have sold them to dealers willing to pay more & there are none left . Frontier is getting them at a higher price & sticking to there original deal but are getting them last so the dealers that bought at a premium get first crack at the customers waiting a yr for them .

This is not fact . Just a conspiracy theory of mine

I also called Frontier today and had a long conversation with the girl on the line. Same info posted by Valashnikov, however she advised that the first shipment to arrive would be the IZN and the second would be the BELL one. Hopefully that is the case.

If the ones that EPPS was selling were IZN as suggested then this could be good for those who ordered select grade. I guess we shall see.

I was also told they will contact you with a tracking number when they ship by phone or email so we should get calls or emails soon...

SIR says they have over 700 rifles backordered; so figure that's gotta be at least 400 people to try to contact with updates? Kinda hard to do.
