Guys,

I need to know if the new Savage 10FCP (one with the HS Precision stock) has a centerfeed or a staggerfeed mag? I read that the old ones had staggerfeeds but newer ones now have centerfeeds. Is this correct? Ordering one from Frontier but they weren't entirely sure.

Someone told me the HS Precision was centerfed too so I ordered a DIY mag kit from SSS... Hope he was right!

Boy I'm gonna check the mail in a couple of weeks for a ton of goodies

How much do you pay for your 10FCP because I have one for sale brand new, never fired and never cleaned although Savage rifles are not very dirty. here is a photo of my mag.

I bought the rifle about 4 months ago so it's a newer production I guess.

The bullets are staggered but I think there is confusion about centerfeed and staggered because the bullet on mine are right in the center of the bolt so I think the mag is centerfeed.

This is what the conversion looks like but says it needs centerfeed mags.

Click accessories and then click the mag link in the middle. The site masks it's pages, so I can't direct link.

WAIT A SEC, they look sickly similar. Lets see..... FAQ Cleared it up I think

HIGH CAPACITY DETACHABLE MAGAZINE CONVERSION

Since the recent change over to the new center feed magazines, the system lends itself to be modular, and adaptable to most applications on current rifles. For the blind, detachable and hinged floorplate magazine configurations, the same magazine box is utilized. The blind magazine consists of a box and follower. For the detachable box magazine, it uses the same components, plus a snap on bottom cap. For the hinged floorplate model, the same components are used in conjunction with a magazine frame with the hinged lid. The detachable box magazine requires the appropriate magazine frame to retain the box. Both the DBM and HFP use the same stock, the inlet is the same for both sets of hardware.

With this in mind, we recently introduced a few new stock patterns to take advantage of the whole system of DBM, blind and HFP rifles. Now one may start with a blind magazine rifle and upgrade to DBM or HFP by adding the correct components.

With the introduction of this system, the DBM is quite popular opposed to the blind magazine, and has led to many requests for conversions. We have also had many requests for higher capacity magazines, and we are offering a magazine extension box kit to increase the capacity to 9 rounds in the .308 family of cartridges. Higher capacity magazines for the .223 and .30-06 family of magazines will follow in the near future.

Complete High Capacity Magazine......................................$ 74.80
DIY Kit (to convert your existing mag)................................$ 54.80

That mag looks to be the center-feed mag, as all rounds feed from the center. They stagger inside the mag but only feed from the center. It is really apparent if you place the mag next to an AR or AK mag. My 10FCP McMillan uses the same mag.

The front facing features of that mag are identical to that in SSS's converted mag picture, so now I'm really pumped. For a minute I thought I had jumped the gun and bought a useless magkit. Now my rifle will look super tacticool!

Let us know how the SSS mag kit works out. I may look into it myself.

It's on it's way, just like my rifle among the rest of it's accessories. From the guys I've talked to in the USA, they say it's fantastic. And, for 50 bucks, you can upgrade. I didn't want to pay 70 something for an additional mag, as I only need one, am on a budget and well, it's american, so add shipping and you're paying 100 or so shipped for a 9 round mag.

Just wondering the outcome of this one? I have the 10fcp as well. The bullets do stagger inside the mag but appear to feed from the center? Did the mag kit work?
