M1 Garand stock problem?

i have a brand new boyds walnut M1 Garand stock that is giving me fit problems.the weapon fits nice and snug but when i go to snap the trigger guard into place it will not close fully. has anyone had this happen before,is this common for new stocks? thanks for any help.

Ya I had that problem, but I just worked it in over time. I closed it hard the first time and it eased up for me. Gun sits so tight in the stock, its been amazing.

Leave it alone.... all that is engineered in so that wood compression will take time. I just clamped it nice and tight and soon the walnut will take shape.
