Pls Suggest a 9mm AR

I never owned an AR/black carbine and looking to get into the addiction. Decide to get a 9mm one just because it is cheaper to shoot. Prefer something with a shorter barrel. Any suggestions? Would be helpful if you know the estimated price for the set up.

I've got one of these.... Me love it long time. Another guy I know has one too and loves it.

I've done mine up with a LaRue 7.0 FF fore end and an M4 buttstock. I'll have to find a picture around here somewhere.

I'm kicking myself for not grabbing one of these from Questar a couple of weeks ago...

Were you able to still use the original buffer with the collapsible buttstock?

Those look pretty hot. I think it will be better with a buttstock as well. Too bad they have ZERO in stock. Any other choices around?

Are the foreend you are talking about easy to come by? I just did a google search, guess the benefit is to install a light or pistol grip in the front?

Btw, is this one on sale the same one you are talking about? A bit pricey for me though.

Skullboy's is the same firearm except with a longer barrel. The buffer you need to use is the 9mm buffer that comes with the rifle, just swap the stocks only. The Fore end is very hard to come by in Canada. LaRue stuff does come up on the EE once in a while but act fast because it never lasts long. I got mine through a dealer and I was lucky...

9mm AR's are the greatest thing for having indoor fun in the winter time. Be it a pisol as mentioned above or a rifle, you can shoot them on most handgun ranges so you can have as much indoor range fun as you want. The .223 you need to fire on a range approved for rifle calibers if you want to shoot it indoors. Not all clubs have this.

Don't forget, though... it is only a 9mm so don't expect the same accuracy as a .223 for distances past 100m. It's the round, not the gun.

My outdoor range is 1hr, 20min away so I don't get out there much. My indoor club with a rifle range is only 50m. So I end up shooting my 9mm a lot more on the handgun range in the winter time. If I'm going to risk road conditions to the outdoor range in the winter, I don't bother with the 9mm since I take the .223.

THat is exactly what i am thinking. I dont want to shoot in the cold. My indoor range only goes to 25 m so I guess at 9mm will do me just fine

Colt or RRA are the good options, all the parts are interchangeable between the two.

I have one that I pieced together myself after a barrel came up for sale on the EE.

Prices are steep right now, which makes the prices of the Colt's not too bad in comparison.

ETA: A 9mm buffer isn't necessary, but is recommended. Recoil, and the beating your gun takes, will be significantly increased without it.

I suppose you could get an Olympic Arms... Some of those made it up here too, they take glock mags. Never tried/handled one myself, but Oly has a less than enviable reputation.

Only major changes since this was taken was the addition of a TD Stubby VFG and a set of rail covers. I still haven't decided on a sighting system yet... probably going to be an Eotech. There are a few other things I would like to do to it, and I need more of these full length mags, but that's about it.
