I have a bit of an issue here. I've been playing around working up some loads for my and my sons Savage .22-250. The load uses a .52 Sierra Matchking HP on top of 38grns of H380. I cant get the bullet anywhere close to the lands. .060" is it if I want to keep one caliber of bullet in the case it self. My brass is 1.901" the bullet is .709" 1.901+.709= 2.61" minus one caliber (.224") for seating depth = 2.38" OAL. OAL to get the bullet on the lands is 2.442" thats a difference of .060" or sixty thou. It's like that on my rifle my sons rifle and also our friends and his sons. Even using other bullets I'm lucky to get closer than .040" with the excpetion of 55grn BlitzKings I can get to within .010". I'm not really complaining as the gun will shoot 3/4" groups @ 100yrds with these loads out of a 22" sported barrel I just though it was strange to see because I've never come across it before when reloading and then to see it in 4 rifles. Anyone else come across this or have an opinion beside you should have bought a Remington or other brand.
Thanks
