You know things are getting ugly when...

How well it would work at what?

I don't know how you market something that has no practical purpose, but maybe the folks at Mossberg think it will sell itself. This maybe proof that the shotgun has reached its pinnacle of versatility and there is nowhere else to go.

probably pump 3" slugs out of there like it was club load . If it had an actual stock it might be a pretty comfy slug gun. If you can even fire slugs out of it?

funny.... armalite seem's to think a muzzle break has a practicle use...

and from what i have been told by a close friend who own's an AR-50 it works VERY well.... a brake like that would turn a magnum slug into a .22mag if it was designed properly... question is did they design it to be a tacticool add on or a serious piece of kit?

A 12 gauge ain't a .50, and even if you want a break, you don't need one that is designed to handle propellant gases from a powder charge 200 grs heavier than the 40 grs you load in 3" 13 gauge. Neither is the break particularly helpful if it blocks the primary sight or makes the gun unwieldily, which seems to be the case here.

so at the risk of repeating myself and to echo what you just said...

Wouldn't work well on shotgun. Not enough gas to "brake" the muzzle.

Yup I'm going to have to side with the "oh no not again" crowd. I think that it's just another tacticool and useless shotgun. Nice ideas though, make it a .50 cal and give it a stock....
