Pretty much everything that we deem true Milsurp (Enfields, Nagants, Mausers) are all trench proven and mud baptized. Other than them the next "do anything, anywhere, anytime" action would be the AK 47.
Mauser!
Is there any popular and recently produced rifle with a Mosin or Enfield action?

- XM-8 (not battle tested, but reliable as hell)
If this was post #2 on this thread, that's all that needed to be said. MAUSER.
Enfied with a rimless cartridge I would put at #1....#### on closing I would consider to be superior reliability to the mosin or mouser actions

One point that I haven't noticed mentioned yet, and that I have personally experienced with both the Enfield, and #### on closing Swedish Mausers, is that unless the safety is engaged all the way to the third position to lock the bolt, the #### on closing actions are prone to opening and even ejecting the chambered round when they are carried slung. I think that the ability to keep a round chambered and ready to go is a pretty important aspect of reliability.
