visually, IZH shipment looks better bcos they are less refurb, the metal arent painted over but from a practical point of view , there would be no difference . matter of fact, for the person who plan to shoot his SKS45 alot then the heavier the refurb the better, it means more of the old parts were replaced .

did you order a crate of ammo with yours? I believe everyone that ordered with a crate of ammo has it shipped DHL, and gets the email. All rifle only orders are going canada post

I'm an old man, old school, don't have the equipment to take or post any pictures......only recently acquired a computer, which I'm still learning to use.
I'm very low-tech, my tv is from 1991.....don't own a DVD player....you get the idea. So sorry curtton, would love to post a picture, just don't have the equipment right now.
 
ok, I just took a closer look at the DHL shipping notification I got, and it says the package is 14x14x14... I'll assume thats in Inches, which makes it about as big as a crate of ammo only.

:( (hopefully it means the rifles are going canadapost though)

It should have a "do not safedrop" notice on the canpost shipping label, and be waiting at your local postal outlet (7-11 or Shoppers Drugmart, or whatever)
 
SIR shipment of russian SKS

Has anyone hear anything new from SIR/Cabelas about their shipment of russian SKS rifles?

Congradulations to all of you that order their SKS rifles from Frontier
 
My wife phoned me today and said the local sportshop called her and my christmas present SKS will be in monday or tuesday. Even better I had just booked a week off work so I will even be able to pick it up myself. Looking forward to shooting it.

Looks like the gas tube, stock & rear sight (weird) where replaced during refurb. Better shape than I expected & worth the wait.

I didn't get a pic of it but the rear cover is stamped match too. Kind of makes me wonder if they were using recycled parts during initial assembly as opposed to during refurb. This thing doesn't even look to have been fired. I will look for witness marks on the moving parts when I clean them.
