Russian SKS45 long thread.

Sorry to break the news, Canada post and DHL just froze all the rifles we shipped. I guess the RCMP got a bit worried at the thought hundreds of guns in the transport system and blew thw whistle. I will give you more details as they are made available.

wtf another delay... delay after delay, even delay on shipment to our door...

I hate you for the joke...

Ha, ha, ha... :D good one (i think...)

Well I just spent the last hour freezing in the garage with my rifle & my parts washer. I can't find one wear mark, pit or speck of carbon to indicate this thing has ever been used in any way. Interesting.

What makes you think we won't make it to 4000 post anyway?

Hell yeah.. Why don't we start posting pics of our SKS's as they arrive and get cleaned, then submit range reports/target pics, etc...

We could even have a contest for the prettiest SKS picture ever to be osted on the web! (kind of a gun-#### thing)... The type of stuff that would have our southern neighbors' firearms community salivating in desire (for once, haha!)

:D

i dont know how to tell you this but..... your metal looks unfired (new). :D

now what make you think the gas tube was replaced ?

could you post a pic of your top cover from the back view so i could see the SN ?

Mine arrived - damaged?

I picked up the parcel and it gave out a horrible clank of parts bashing around! WTF? I told the wife to avert her eyes as I slit open the parcel with a utility knife in the middle of the kitchen table... stuff fell out!

The gun was intact, but there were 2,10-rd clips, a cleaning kit and a strange, two-part oil bottle all collected in the cardboard along with a sling, oil bottle holder and an ammo pouch. No worries!
The wood looks very good for a refurb and most numbers match. The finish on the metal is great, and there are a very few scratches on it.

I haven't had a chance to thoroughly clean it yet, but I did strip it down once I found that the action would not hold open on the empty mag.

It turns out that the weld job on the magazine pinning rod had so much extra weld on it ( dog balls ) that the mag follower could not return to the full empty position and hold the action open. Ten minutes with a dremel fixed it.

Once I can give it a really good detail cleaning, we'll head out to the range. Please pass the varsol.
Geoff
