Hi: I just got the new russells catologue and see they don't sell said brass but do sell the .458 Lott brass. I form my own .458WM brass from .338 and 300 WM but i wonder is the lott relacing the Win Mag or is there places to buy it still? Dan

Hi Dan. The odd bit comes available from time to time but it's not something you see available often. There was a some at the last Duncan gun show and may be again there on the next one March 1st.

Hi Johnn:As you know i make my own but it just seems strange that Lott brass is available but i don't see any .458WM for sale. The brno i got from you hits hard enough i can't see turning it into a lott although the action is deffinately long enough. As soon as it warms up so i can cast outside i'll send you some bullets from my LBT mould if you want. Dan

I see Ganderite has some new brass available. There you go. I'd be tempted to grab it if you're not interested. Let me know. I have 'some' and while you can have too little, you can't have too much.;)
I don't think I'd rechamber to 458 Lott either. I still have the model 70 in 458WM and with loads at the hotter end of the scale and using 500 +gr jacketed bullets, that's enough 'push' for me. Any bigger like the 458 Lott and it's a spectator sport for me.
I've got a variety of about six different cast bullets I get from a couple of local suppliers, 345grBB - 535grGC I have primarily for the Marlin 1895GS 45-70. The 535's I'm saving for use in my model 70. If I get some decent performance out of them, I'll give you a shout & send you a batch in trade for yours from your LBT mould.

Ganderite, a PM is on the way.

they better not be replaceing it with anyhting its one of my favretie big game calibers:cool: i can't wait to buy a nice bolt actin in .458:cool: if only i had something to shoot with it;)....

The 1st one I had was a Ruger M-77 and when my wife asked "What are you going to use that for"?!! I told her, "homesteading, clearing land":D. Sometimes you have to get something, just cuz;).

I have some that has been necked to 416 Taylor, don't know if you can take it back to 458? FS

Today, the Gods smiled upon me, brass wise that is. I lucked into 100 R-P 45-70 brass, 300 Herter's 303Br. brass and 100 Winchester 458WM. Sometimes, life is good. Now, by the time I wear out what I have, I'll be worn out.
