Any CZ owners out there that can give any advice on what bullet weights
work the best for this rifle?I've tried 60 gr bullets and they didnt work at all.
50 gr was decent.Any suggestions?

I had one, but traded it on a 6mm BR,

It liked Varget with win brass, and 52-53 gr SMKs, with Fed GMM primers, and win cases, never tried lapuas, sure it would have shot better, mine would shoot .5s at 100 yards with this load, I just figued if i was going to carry a heavy gun might as well get an F class rifle, so I did!

I had poor results with this gun with H380 and believe it or not even my old stand by IMR 4895 , it just wanted varget

Heavy gun though!

Twist Rate to Bullet Weight

I have read find the heavist bullet that will stablize for the twist your barrel has to achive the best accuracy. I read this from either "Percision Shooting at 1000 yards" or "The Ultimate in Rifle Accuracy" it could have even been P.O Ackleys Volumes. I can't remember, I've read to much of this stuff. The point behind it is that if you spin a light bullet at a fast twist it is unstable and takes a lot of time to "go to sleep" that is why some pills from fast twist, fast case guns, such as the 7 STW( mostly 1-9) seem to explode in mid air. Too much stability. Don't take my word for it thought try heavy bullets and then go down until you achive the best accuracy. That will be the heavist bullet you can stablize out of your barrel with the best accuracy.:D

It is a 14 twist.

I'm not a precision shooter, but can get .7 and .6 groups at 100 yrds with 45 grainers that are hollow points!

At 500 yrds I'm shooting coffee cans (the larger ones)

Not sure if that helps or not.

Best 22/250

I use 55 gr. Nosler and vmax with 39.0 -40.0 grs of IMR 4007. OAL is important issue for your rifle. I use .005 from lands. Good luck

These are my test results.Powder I used was Varget.Shot at 100m.It seems this rifle likes the lighter bullets best.Im not really happy, It should be able to group tighter, but i have only about
120 rounds down the barrel.Have to try some more loads.

Rest

Freddy

I count 15 groups from your shooting today. What are you using for a rest. Was the 40gr the first one you shot today. If you can find a box of the Win 40 round bulk pack in 22-250, I believe that they are 45gr bullets. Usually Walmart has them. This stuff was unreal in my rifle. I'm not suggesting you use these all the time, just for a test. I believe that the powder Win. use is a ball powder. I switched to Win 748 and my groups tightened up a lot. FS

Range test

Freddy

Looks to me that your rifle shoots its best group from a cold barrel. How long between groups are you letting your barrel cool?

Get your self a set of range bags, Caldwells will work, a filled front bag at Wholesale is $22.00, and a rear bag with ears is $37.00. Shoot this way to get your best group. FS

Your results are astoundingly similar to what I'm getting with my Savage 110 22-250. My best results to date have been with factory Remington 55 gr core-lokt. After that, 40 grain V-Max with H380 has shown potential. Disappointing results with Varget and H414.
