PMAGs - where to buy?

Ok I have been wondering this for a while but now I have to ask... Why are these in such high demand? Does the polymer give them some sort of advantage and make them functionally better in some manner, or is it simply that they are more rugged and may last longer when abused badly...?

Nobody knows. Maybe 'Your #### will fall off'
The rifle doesn't shoot better...or faster. As far as I can tell....they look cool:cool:
Like most of the stuff put on an AR. It is all about looking good.

Well a high sale point in a Full capacity version would be that you are to be able to load all 30 rounds with space for about an extra half round (making it easy to load into a firearms with a closed bolt.) Personally i find that they are quite more reliable when firing, with less misfeeds happening in my AR and a friends who wouldnt cycle more than a few rounds with standard mags. Also i find they they are all the exact same in size and go in/ drop freely from the magwell, which i have trouble with other GI type mags. So IMHO is yes they do help my AR to shoot better and faster:)

I've seen them in the EE for around 50 a pop... in the states you're looking at around $12-15 iirc

more like $30-40 at the moment... they do pop up at $20-25 but are gone real quick. not sure what 'normal' price is or when they'll go back down but probably more along the lines of $15-20

then again, i'm in california, and everyone's panic buying at the moment as well

Had a couple overseas. (thank you Savage!!!!) performed flawlessly! When needed they did the job and then some. The nice thing about full cap mags is the self leveling of the rounds, no misfeeds because the platform angled and jammed like the issued ones. Check my avatar, that is one of them on a C7A2 in Kandahar. Like I said flawless performance when needed even in the dusty conditions we worked in.

rivetc78 is right... :D

If you don't buy a PMag for your LMT, KAC, Noveske, LaRue, gucci M4 cut upper receiver, yer #### WILL fall off!

They are the best magazine currently for the AR platform they work as advertised will take far more abuse than the USGI mags and will function even when shot.So if you think your #### will fall off keep using those POS Thermold mags that the CF used
Jay T I have more mags that can be sent to a good home that will recieve good use.;)

Does anyone know where I can buy PMAGs for an AR-15?

The only place to buy PMags is in the good 'ol US of A. They are evil contraptions in Canada, and mysteryously jump in price by 600% when one crosses our border.

I will die, roll over in my grave before I buy a PMAG in Canada at any of the asking prices the guys want. For $12-$15 you can buy handfuls of them in the States, but due to export laws we can't bring them back.

So do the math, do you really need a one PMAG in your collection-knowing that if you lived just a few miles south for that one Canadian PMAG you could own 6-8 of them!

Buying firearms stuff in Canada is getting beyond rediculous.

When PMAG's are available in Canada, they should be boxed for the Canadian market with complimentary stirrips and a gallon of lube for the retailer that gives it too you.

Done my rant now on PMAG's. Great product for $15, not worth $60-$100 for the rapists in Canada.

Gentlemen:

While, I would tend to agree with you both that pmags are over priced, the market will bear what it will bear.

If individuals are willing to pay a certain price, (regardless of the financial wisdom behind it) it is not up to you to criticize to tell them how “stupid” they are, and that the individuals and companies selling them are “Gouging”.

If the “gouging”label were accurate, the items in question simply would not sell. Regardless of your grousing, people vote very loudly with $’s spent.

However If one were to summarize your post:

  • Pmags are not worth there current price
  • you guys are “idiots” for bying them
  • its really pi$$ing me off that you “idiots” are still buying them at this level and keeping the price above my purchase threshold
Just my 2 cents

respectfully

AbH

+1 for Abhobbyist's post I completely agree, I received a free p mag from a friend and the are the best mags and the coolest mags out there. personally I believe mags in general in Canada are ridiculously over priced.

You must mean US dollars. The cheapest I can find em for is 17$ CAD for Pmag w/o window. Add to that the cost of pinning them, importing them (time, effort) it is not unreasonable to ask for $35-$40 dollars up here. I've never seen them for more than $45 bucks each up here. If you're looking at $60-$100 per mag then I'd say shop somewhere else!

I don't know about the rest of you but If I needed them I'd pay $40 bucks for the best AR mag going. Anyone who doubts their durability as compared to a GI mag is a moron. Myself and few guys got a bunch overseas and we tested the crap outta them...even borrowed the ANP's Ford Ranger and ran a few mags over. After that, I was a true believer and I'll stand by these mags.

P-Mags are worth the money to me. I have a 6920 lower with a 6921 top end. Mags were the only problem I ever had with this system...the P mags totally solved this issue...full stop. I have seen guys spend stupid amounts of money on gear they don't need, will never properly employ...most of whom could use a gym membership more than the super ninjacqbcqtshortthisthatandtheotherthing...if a 60 dollar mag keeps your primary sporting/training or work tool running than it is money well spent...I really couldn't give a toss what they go for down south...

Savage, thanks for the offer. I am home now, and I passed on the greatness to fellow nutz, bhp's are patroling the grounds of a FOB and the PMags are somewhere in the Battlegroup. Sent you a pic of my buddy with his/yours didn't I? He swears by them now. After a few contacts he started to rely heavily on them for his first 2 mags and usually by then he had cover so he could fight with his issued mags. A few guys got some american mags that are a little different than ours. Not sure the make but they would hold 30 no problem and the platform did not tilt like ours do.So that was a bonus.

Magpul is overrated. The whole company seems to be like a bunch of snowboarders who view war as an extreme sport..
