Anyone know some good places to get a waterproof shotgun case for a Remington 870 with a 20 inch barrel. It is important that it is waterproof because I am going to take it deep in the bush camping on the westcoast. I live on the Island too if anyone knows of some good places nearby.

I don't think a completely waterproof bag is a good idea, you want moisture to be able to escape somewhat. If not you could end up with a rusty mess.

Protect the shotty, with oil, wax or whatever you like best, wipe it down every day and you should be fine.

just my 2 cents!

I want a hard case. If I don't use anything the gun is going to be as useful as a rock. It is possible the gun(In The Case) could be dropped into the Ocean while we unload our stuff so it has to be completely sealed.

I've spent a good part of my life on the ocean with guns.
1 pay attention when off loading

3 Take care of said firearm OIL OIL OIL OIL
4 Don't believe all the b.s. from guys talking about salt that live in manatoba!

Seriously. Buy a marine magnum; sell the one you have. The MM comes in a waterproof hardcase tube. It's designed to meet your need.

The guy at the next table at the Edmonton Gun Show a month ago had one on the table for $500.

Do You mean a mossberg J.I.C.?

As I said before, You realy don't need a "water proof" case but If you want one spend the loot and get a pelican.

Google optimal cases and lights. They are the canadian distributer for pelican. and the last time I checked shipping was free. Pelican case sizes are rather limited for rifles and shotguns. Unless you break it down you are probably looking at a case that is 20 pounds empty and about $200.

I ran into the vendor that has the Mossberg at the Edmonton Gun Show this weekend. He still has it. Contact Jim @ Gevarm, if you're interested in it. He has it up for $550.00

Marine mags do not come in cases. The Mossber JIC does. My advise, get the Pelican and stuff it with a REAL Marine Mag.
