Norinco 8 gauge sxs? Would you buy one?

My philosphy (I believe it to be one that we should all adopt, actually)

I commend you for your philosphy, but to suggest that we should all adopt it, goes against free choice. I think we should stick to topic instead of going off on some philosphy lesson:D

One look at this thread and I am thinking the firearms community doesn't have to be legislated out of existence, it can be left alone to self destruct. In this day and age, when there are citizens and government leaders who have made it clear that they think no private citizen should own any firearm, we need tolerance. If Bobby wants to own an 8 guage double and fire it into the backstop, so what? He's still shooting. After all, the only thing we can do with restricted guns is make holes in paper and knock plates down.
The Norincos have filled a niche in that they have provided an affordable firearm for new shooters. I see many young new shooters at the range with a Norinco. If they get into IPSC, they know they will have to upgrade, but it's a great way to get new people into our sport. How many of us had a Mercedes or Cadillac as a first car?
It's time for tolerence and healing. Let's support each other while we still can. You don't have to like another man's gun or shooting discipline, but at least show some tolerance and support.

Bobby,
If you think that I have dumped on you too much in this thread and others, I am sorry. If you ever get your big 8, I sure hope that you try it on some clay and be sure to take videos. A part of me is curious how this would turn out.:D

So you would buy a gun you can't buy ammo for? That's great. have at it.

What about PTRS/PTRD owners? I'd sure as hell buy one, even though I can't get ammo for them. I also own 6.5x52mm Carcano rifles and haven't been able to find ammo for them. I know it exists but it's not a very common caliber and I probably won't buy any ammo for them. But, it's legal, we're allowed to own them, I honestly don't see what the big deal is.

There are tons of firearms available that I wouldn't buy, for many reasons. I don't jump all over other people's threads acting like I'm some uber gun-guru, spewing :puke: my e-ego all over the place.

I've had no 'experience' with a PTRS/PTRD, or an 8ga, or .338LM... doesn't mean I shouldn't.

The only guns I won't buy right now, and that's because of all the terrible reviews my friends are giving me are the Rem 710 and Mini 14/30.

Some guys got Dlask shotties with 6in barrels... seems kinda pointless (practicality wise) to me, but you know what? I'd probably buy one, just to have, and it'd make a great conversation piece (as well as fireball). I'm guessing a 12inch barrel 8ga would make a SICK fireball!

Very wise advice.

I would buy one of these for bear defence, and a second one solely to offend Claybuster.
Finally, someone comes up with a legitimate reason reason to own one. :D

I believe Win/64, Covey Ridge and I are doing more to sell these guns than anything Canam is doing.

Go ahead. Piss me off. Buy a Norinco. :dancingbanana:

Norinco has never made an upgrade of anything! Just a cheap knock off of an existing model where the patent has expired. The only thing upgraded is the profit by the manufacturer and the importer.

So evil arm dealer and evil arm importers sell cheap baby killing guns to make huge profit?

Should we ban inexpensive import guns? Even they are perfectly legal?

The above statements seem to be a contradiction?:D

Don't sweat it! Win/64 comes across that way with me as well:D

Have you read any reviews on this particular shotgun? Have your friends recommend that you stay away from a Norinco 8ga SXS?

No. So, they're not contradicting each other. We get it, you don't like Norinco products. Norinco makes crap products that no one buys. No one bought their m-14 copies or their tt-33, SKS copies or anything else.

I assume if norinco was to build an 8ga sxs it would be based on the JW-2000-12 which is the same gun as the outlaw only with longer barrels. I have personally seen 2 of these guns. The first one when you opened the action the forearm would fall off. The second one would lock up solid and not fire at all. The fix for that was to remove the action and smooth out the parts with a wire wheel. That fix didn't last long. Both guns were so badly "off face" after only a few hundred rounds they were deemed unusable. And people would consider actually firing one in an 8 ga?
