Hey everybody, I've been searching for this since last week but I can't find anybody that will install a muzzle brake.

I'm in London, called a few places here and called a gunsmith in Chatham and he doesn't install them also.

Does anybody know who does this type of work that I can drive to? rather drive to the place then send the rifle anywhere.

Thank you

I am seeing one on Wednesday,if he will do it I will give you a pm.Do you have the brake and how much do you feel it should cost?

Gas isn't cheap either...
It costs about $15 to mail a barreled action and about $15 return to just about anywhere in Canada... There must be hundreds of "smiths' who could do it. What brake do you have that requires installation on what rifle?

Thanks, that would help.
I contacted Holland about their muzzle brake and they ship upto Canada so I'll be ordering the Holland muzzle brake. The PGW one that I'd like costs about 300.00 so that will go on the next build haha

How much would a gunsmith charge to install one? I've read anywhere from 70-200...very wide answer so I'm not sure. Have to shop around for price/reputation.

Well depends, I don't mind shipping but I didn't know what the shipping costs could be.

The rile is a Savage 10FP .308 that I'd like to get it installed onto. It's going to be my 'project/build Savage' one of the guns I plan to keep for years.

I charge $100 to install and finish a brake that requires indexing. It needs to be precisely fitted and tapered and can be finished in a matte finish or polished shiny. Shipping to and return would probably be close to $30.

Here is one in a matte finish.

Haven't even heard of them, checked their site and they dont list a location but their area code is 519 so should be close by.

Called them twice, nobody picked up will try later and see if anybody else has any recommendations.

He's in Port Dover, not to far from you and try calling after 6pm. He works late and its easier to reach him later on.

Guntech, thats a pretty good price.

How long does the process take if you don't mind me asking?

Once I receive the barrel and brake usually not longer than a couple of days... it just depends on what jobs I am working on at that time. No longer than 10 days maximum turn around.

You'll be very pleased with Guntech's [Dennis] work. He has done several jobs for me, in fact he has parts off two rifles there right now. It's well worth the postage across the country and back.

.

I talked to him today he will install it but he makes his own brakes.PM me I will get his phone number to you if you want it.
