Wow....$99 pistol....Norinco M213

So I get home and the wife has a package for me, signature required. . .

I immediately opened it, screw dinner and all, and had to be sure my son understood "look with your eyes". It was pretty tough to get the barrel bushing off, very tough. It's well oiled, in fact the box it came it was stained with oil and falling apart. It isn't as nicely finished as my TT-33 but $99, it's just $99. I have to give CanAm credit, the box came with a copy of my reg notification and a Short Term ATT. Now that's real service, and on a $99 crap cannon.

Velocity: 335 mm/sec ??????????? That's roughly 13.5 inch/sec. With that speed it takes over a minute to hit a target at 25 m. :D
Maybe a good hot handload can make it under a minute. :D
That'd be awesome for IPSC. :D

Got mine in the mail today too. Needed a good cleaning and oiling. Its a great deal for $99. Hopefully I'll get a chance to shoot it this weekend.

I might just have to buy another one :)

Yep, still some feeding problems. FTE mainly, which vanishes when I use my support hand to push up on the magazine while shooting. This is annoying. It would seem that the mag drops ever so slightly after the first round, setting up subsequent issues. Not sure what can be done about it. But I'll keep fiddling and firing in the meantime.
 
Can someone please explain what it means when members say this gun has "rough" or "sharp edges". I have never owned a gun with such. Pics would be appreciated.

Common problem with Nork handguns. Normally the "sharp edges" are not really cut in to your hand. But pulling the slide back for 20 times will make your fingers red.
 
Hmm. So other than pontcanna (who seems to have one annoying heck of a problem) what's the consensus on these guns? I've got enough spare change right now (literally, I just counted my change bucket) to buy one, but I'll need to get a range membership if I do. $99 gun and $100 range membership for it worth it?

Don't do it. You'll be frustrated. Why? Because if you're counting change in a bucket just to come up with the $199 up-front costs, you will not be able to afford to shoot the gun. You've not owned a handgun before, so you haven't experienced the joy and expense of running through a few hundred rounds of centerfire ammo at the range in an afternoon. If a gun is fun, you're going to want to shoot it. A lot. Budget to feed the pig.
 
Anybody buying a restricted is a good idea. So is joining a range - any range. It all helps the cause :)

And this is coming from Mr. Frustrated...but I'm not giving up on it...I think mag issues can be a bit chronic with Nork Toks...
