Final Pics Added: 1903 A3 Desporterization With Pics

I'm not familiar at all with Springfields... So is it just me, or is the front hand guard on backwards?

No, hand guard is on correctly, but pic gives appearance of a hump in in the forward portion. Not sure how I pulled that off taking the pic. It is an original, so it has a little dip at the aft band (sanded too many times over the years?), but no where near as bad as pic...

Where did you buy the stock for the springfield?
I have been looking to do the same thing and cant find anywhere in Canada.
Thanks

Boyds stocks out of the U.S. use to ship here unless things have changed again. About 90 -95% inletted & sanded is how you get it. They also pop up here on EE every once and while. There was one for sale last week... Sarco Inc. is another place to check. Basically go do a search & start calling the guys, most of who, will be out of the States.

:DAs promised, here's some final pics after a good polishing. Built another couple last weekend, but not ready for pics just yet...Enjoy the show...

Ah...Claven a very keen eye. That Boyds stock was just missing something... inspector cartouche was Lt. Col. Waldemar Broberg an ordnance inspector from 1941 to 1942. Intentionally marked incorrectly, but since its a build up for me, lets say it's Col. William Brophy... Stamped the stock with inspector mark, ordnance wheel, flaming bomb and a proof mark behind the trigger guard.

By the way, I forgot to mention that I left the Boyds stamp alone in the barrel channel & hand guard that was used in the end was an original.

Does anybody have or have info on one of these little beauties? Future build or purchase (if I could afford it!)...

Thank You. I'm an older guy but this was my biggest build on my own. I wanted a C stocked A3, couldn't find one. So I pieced the best parts I had to put together this one. Still have to have this head spaced before I shoot it. I will post pics of a couple of others I have recently assembled, but their not quite ready for show & tell.
