Installing TD rail panels on Stag?

My Stag 2TR arrived a couple days ago and I'm getting it dressed for my first trip to the range with a black rifle.

I got some Tango Down BP-4 rail panels, now I need to get them onto the Samson quad rail. To slide them on I'd need to take off the front sight and sling mounts. Is there a way to soften them up (hot water maybe???) to snap them over the rail rather than having to slide them on? Any other suggestions?

no way those panels are snapping on by heating it with hot water. Just slide it on.

Did you want to put a panel on the top rail? Assuming its a flat top upper then just remove the charging handle out of the way and slide it on to the rail from the reciver end. NO need to remove frontsight for a panel.

Or put a magpul rail ladder they snap on.

I took another look at it last night. The right side can slide on.

To get the left side on I have three options. 1. Punch out the pin that holds the sling loop onto the mount that goes around the barrel. 2. Punch out the two pins that hold the sling loop mount to the barrel. 3. Take the quad rail off the rifle and slide it on from the back.

To get the top one on I have two options. 1.Remove the front sight. 2. Remove the charging handle and rear sight.

I can manage to detail strip and reassemble a 1911 but these AR's are new to me.

wouldn't you want to remove the sling loop that's on the barrel?? and move to a sling attachment that is on the free floating handguard? Taking all pressures off the barel?

That is what I would be inclined to do, but I am fairly new to this AR stuff as well.

Personally I wouldn't put a panel on top, I'd use a ladder type on top, if anything.

For the left side panel, remove the side sling swivel by drifting out the two roll pins holding the back of it on. When putting it back on, put the pin that is inside the sight base on first, its easier that way.

If you do want one on top, your choices are what you said, slide it on from the back, after removing the sight, or remove the rail. My vote would be either -nothing or -a ladder protector on top.
