I am shopping for new furniture for my M305 however some vendor on the net describe their USGI stock as synthetic stock while others say it fiberglass.

Did they ever come in synthetic stock?

I know anything man made could call synthetic but I am talking about a one piece mounted plastic found on modern sporting arms not fiberglass.

i'm betting by synthetic they are meaning fiberglass, which is a type of synthetic. Which vendor are you refering to?

Thanks 45ACPKING for your post!

Yeah, that's what I would think too because as far as I know the USGI are fiberglass variant not synthetic.

I was looking at the fred's warehouse, how about those secret "Canadian Stock"?

What's the cost?:D

Synthetic simply means anything that isn't REAL wood :D

You can have a synthetic wood stock (fiberglass made to look like wood).

syn⋅thet⋅ic

1. of, pertaining to, proceeding by, or involving synthesis (opposed to analytic ).
2. noting or pertaining to compounds formed through a chemical process by human agency, as opposed to those of natural origin: synthetic vitamins; synthetic fiber.

Yeah, I know and the one I refer to is more like the ramline (one piece moulded plastics) because the gel coat on the fiberglass prone to get ding , gouge and crack over time but plastic won't.

but.... fiberglass dings, gouges and cracks are easily repaired to as new state, especially if they are constructed of epoxy blends. Plastics are tough to repair as most adhesive repair putties and materials simply fail to bond to plastics like zytel and such over time ;)
