I know I've come across it in my google travels, but here's a mention of it being easy, without the detail.

I know "Clark" from my Norinco 54-1 38 Super conversion. He's a cool guy who's considered a nutjob by the Fudd element. He has poked around at CGN too.

Anyways, it was easy - remove the grips, pop out a pin, and the spacer falls out. The standard wider mag then works fine. The hard part is re-installing the grips (fiddle, fiddle). You really should remove them anyways, as there is a lot of oil you can't clean out without removing them.

Unlike the 54-1 and TT-33, the M213 is not a feasible candidate for conversion to 7.62x25 or 38 Super. The mag conversion is dead easy, but there are other differences (from Clark):

- ejection port is too small (can be opened up);
- the hammer group is different (is farther forward). The ejector "Shoulder" has to be moved back; and
- there is a protrusion on the bottom of the breech face that runs into the hammer group. The M213 hammer group housing has a relief cut for this. You could either cut the protrusion off the slide or put a relief cut in the hammer group.

Not worth it.

Anyways, now I have lots of mags, and if I want more, I can now use the more common wider 9mm mags that have the spacer built in.

A great deal for sure, but remember the Lever Arms $199 deal for the Norinco 54-1. Came with two barrels (7.62x25 and 9mm) and a few mags. That was a great deal as well.

M213 spacer in the mag well issue.....

Well, that answers that question.... thanks Andy!

Finally, I had time to clean it... There is LOTS of oil in the gun but sure it has kept the metal safe from rusting. I didn't do a detailed cleaning but did take the grips off for easier access to the inside. The inside has a beautiful chainsaw finish. :D It is rough and there are lots of sharp edges. Make sure you do a finger count after putting the gun back together. :D
Field stripping is easy and can be done without any tools.
Good gun for the money. At least, I'm happy with it. :dancingbanana:

Just a comment to the above TT33 assembly/disassembly procedure.

For TT33 disassembly - instead of removing the bushing first - it's much easier to start with pushing the flat spring on the right first, then remove the slide stop pin and remove the slide along with the spring assembly still inside - this way the spring cannot fly away (which might be the case if you remove the bushing first).
;)

Well, damn that sounds like a good idea. Thank you :D

So _ I got my 99 dollar gun. Yay.

The weird thing is the mailman (or woman) dropped it off in the mailbox without asking for a signature. It sat there all day until I got home from work.

There was a space on the package that showed it required a signature - I guess that doen't matter to them.

Tokarev Challenge

I'm working on a "Tokarev Challenge" at EOHC (near Ottawa) on Sat May 16 after a Rifle Range cleanup, likely from 11:00-1:00. Once it's arranged, I'll make it official. It'll be a Bullseye Event at ranges up to 25 yds. We'll include all Tokarevs (e.g. M213, TT-33, other Norincos) for comparison.
