Looking at Dlask's websight , I tripped across this.. $260.00

"Hammer-forged from a single piece of high-grade steel barstock.. precision CNC machined to original U.S. Military dimensions for a drop-in fit on mil-spec M14s and clones. Heat treated to Rc 42-43, exceeding original military specification (Rc 32-42), for an exceptionally hard, wear-resistant outer surface. Parkerized for added strength and corrosion protection, with a matte black finish to match most military rifle finishes."

Yup..... most folks will cringe at that price BUT it is actually a bargain considering new oprods go for in excess of 300 to 385 in the U.S., I'll post links for those who doubt my claims.

I've handled the oprods from dlask..... beautiful workmanship, stamped part numbers, usgi in appearance... one peice....... might have to grab one :D

Ah crap, I guess I'll have to buy one too now....

I'm guessing these might need some fitting?

I paid $200 for my used, USGI OP rod, and it needed some minor fitting on one of my Norc recievers, on teh other reciever it fit perfectly. Given that there is some variation in the Norc receivers some occasional fitting is not unexpected. That is a great price for a new rod!

Yup, what carbonrod said.....
a useful part for the custom builder, wanting to fit from a new part
an excellent repalcement for a worn oprod or over spec oprod channel.
most of our norcs are fine...... I've only met a couple that would benefit from this part as no other chinese oprod we tried solved the loose oprod issue on that rifle.

still.... very cool to have it availlable on the canadian market.
your norinco oprod is one piece forged and is arguably one of the best made parts of the rifle..... some say on par or more durable than an issue 2 piece usgi.
as Hungry would say...... if you do not buy this part..... your #### will not fall off...... but if you do buy this part.... some scientific studies have shown that your #### "might" grow by a millimeter or two :D

Indeed. For a new, one piece forged Op ROd.....awesome deal. Having to lapp in the new one wouldn't be bad for anyone seeking a tight NM project.

a little birdy told me......... hehehehe , I'll shut up now before someone smacks me :D don't ya guys just hate those teasers.
I seen Joe's oprod about a month ago and wasn't allowed to say a word hehehe, good to see them on his site and that his company is hearing us m14 owners when we say " we need parts now dammit"

Which shop is Joe's?

Joe gave me one of these op rods to test and report on.
It is definitely NOT a drop in fit in my Norc ... the pad is very robust.

I'll bring it to the feb 14 group grope, there was one Chinese 14 that had an op rod jumping out of the slot .... looked as if it had been Customised by a dremel. We can try the fit in a few Norcs, or better yet a GI and an SA as well.

From a quick inspection, the op rod looks GREAT .... WAYYY better than the last time I stopped by the Puyallup gunsgow, and found a gaggle of "as new" op rods and bolts. After careful inspection with calipers, I decided not to buy any of them .... reparked, rewelded JUNK priced for BIG bucks. And the man behind the table never even blinked when I told him his stuff was crap!!

When it comes to USED 14 stuff out of the US, BUYER BEWARE!

Also, just for price comparison purposes, Ron Smith is selling his new manufacture op rods for about $200US. Do the conversion and you are around $250. This is a pretty good deal at the price guys.
