Where are all the S&W M 57's?

Buy a new one.

At the 2009 SHOT Show in Orlando, at the S&W booth, I had my hands on a very sweet nickel 57 with a four inch barrel. They also had a very nice deep rich blue [almost Colt Royal Blue] model 58 fixed sighted four incher.
I didn't see either listed in their new catalogue, but the two on the floor means they are making them. Just order a new one with a longer barrel.

These new Classic 57's and 58's are going to be a limited run so don't be surprise if they don't make it to Canada especially the 58 because its prohibited issue due of the 4" barrel lenght same with the Classic 18 that there going to put out also. There never ever come close to the quality that the ones have Pinned barrel , Recessed cylinders the magnum ones no hilary hole (the lock) and those grips i don't know not like the real Dymonds Magnas and the Targets put out in the 50's & 60's i know i not going to buy one stick with the vintage ones for half the price of a new one i bet they'll be close to 1300 to 1500 Canadian for a 57 if it makes it here...

You know, everytime I read these thread, I keep asking too myself if , as a group , we can ask the distributors in Canada to have some special run of handguns, wheelgun mostly, manufactured for the canadian law. What about a Mountain gun 625-?? with a 108MM, or a 610-?? unfluted with a 5 inches barrel. I am sure that if the distributors is asking Smith to manufactured small batch of 250 or 500 gun of these, with all the collectors around here who look for a fair price on this type of gun and all the frustrated non12(6) holder. They will sell easily. HÉ! Smith is looking for bad economic time, so let ask them to do business NO?

Thoughts on the new/old S&W's.......

I prefer the originals over the new 'retro' models.

I'd like an original 4" Model 58 to go with my 6" Model 57..... [but not for $1,500..... :p]

NAA.

Hope Billy you are still happy with that one??

And yes a Mdl 58 at $1500.00 is way too high, even on US gun web site , they usually go for $550/$750.00 and that market is all open too the 4 inch and less. Yes, the add will reappear, but to be able to sell it at this price???
Dreammm!!

I'm surprised it isn't more popular. I have never read about or talked to someone who had a 41 say a bad word about it. I've heard some say that the 357 sometimes isn't enough gun and others say the 44 has too much recoil. Strange, isn't it?

Harry Callahan sealed the .41's fate. That, and the price of ammo. It's a reloader's dream though.
