Yes, I agree, as a shooter, a Bell would be O.K., --- I got a nice 1950 Tula, and I,m not sure if I,ll put it to one side or not ??? !!
 
I'm going to shoot mine a bit, but not as much as my Norinco. I can't wait to refinish mine. Still don't know how to get that awesome red yet. You'd think somewhere I would be able to find something.

Yes I might To, I,m really not sure ?? --- about that Red you would like to get, --- I saw on another gun site, in the States, a while ago, and somewhere I have it saved, you can use a very small amount of Iodine mixed with some much Alcohol, and its suposed to make a very nice red stain , I haven,t tried it on a gun stock Yet, but I did do a test on a piece of hardwood, And it worked,turned out Nice, a nice deep, rich Red !!! ---- if I can find the write up, I post here. I,m thinking of using it on a RC 98, Mauser I,v got, and refinishing. Its a interesting bit of information. :)

Mine is a 1950, and I shoot it. As I mentioned earlier, these are not $1000 + rifles, and are not going to be worth $1000's of dollars later on, so in my opinion, if its your only SKS, go enjoy it at the range, instead of staring at it in the cabinet.

P.S Just remember that your 1950 does not have a chrome bore, so make sure you clean it well.

Yes, heavyBullet ---I know what your saying, I have a Norinco, that I can,t hurt, folding stock etc; etc; -- so I see what happens , just haven,t made up my mind, that all !!:) -- and Yes I realize it doen,t have a chrome bore !!

I didnt see any at proline last time I was there, and WSS was $200 when I got some there a few weeks ago.... I cant think of anywhere else that might sell it in Calgary though (although people tell me of this mystical gun shop on Mac Trail, that they can never remember the name or address of, and I cant find in any phone book)

Since some-one else said the name, I will reveal it. They are not a sponsor.
It was Russell Sports. They have it in the back, you have to ask for it. They have small boxes of 10 rounds on clips for $5 each out front. CROOKS.
 
WSS just raised their magnum cartridges $30 to $40 per box. I have a beautiful rifle that at $4 per shot ($80 per 20 from $50) will be sitting until I find another supplier or can find some brass. Nothing like rape and pillage the people.

Russell's is an expensive place to shop.

I stopped by our sponsors shops here but none of them carry my ammo. Most people here are PO'ed and think the new Bass Pro when it opens will be the end all be all.

We will see.

Well I was on a quest for SKS's today in Calgary, lots of i do not know and quoting high prices. I have a laminate on the way from Frontier, but I was hoping to find a hand select. By me...LOL

If I had the coin lying around I would have bought a few crates. Hold onto 'em, keep em oiled up and dry, then resell in 5 years for nearly double :)
