So _ I got my 99 dollar gun. Yay.

The weird thing is the mailman (or woman) dropped it off in the mailbox without asking for a signature. It sat there all day until I got home from work.

There was a space on the package that showed it required a signature - I guess that doen't matter to them.

They can't do that. The box is shipped with "SIGNATURE REQUIRED, DO NOT SAFE DROP" label.

When my SKS's were delivered earlier this week, the young mailman asked me what was in the package. I calmly replied that it was golf clubs. He then asked why they were signature required. I said, you tell me your the one asking for the signature :D I could have told him what they were, but I figure the less people that know I have a gun collection the better.

Yes and no. If legal ownership of guns is not perceived to be alive and well anymore, society ("society" being the sum of all perceptions, right or wrong) will be more likely to suggest and support gun prohibitions.

I reckon if my liberal neighbours and friends know me as the normal, friendly, level-headed guy who happens to own a bunch of guns... they might not adopt the ignorant "guns are evil" motto as quickly.

I do understand your point if it's from the perspective of not wanting the sketchy dudes across the street know what they can steal from your house...

I live in the Calgary suburbs and there are gun cases regularly in the post office shelves waiting to be picked up.
The people behind the counter have never flinched at the notion that there is a firearm in the package.
The only comment I have heard is "Santa must like you" this Christmas.
Maybe its an Alberta thing?

Santa doesn't like people in Commtario.

My postie gals at the box in Regina just nod & smile when the boxes come in. The funniest was a #1 in 458 with 30lbs of extra leads included, she asked "what the he** is this, an Elephant rifle??" I replied Bingo, you are exactly right!

Should have told them that they were super expensive that's why they require a signature.

Anyways, I ordered on Jan 7th and I just got an email yesterday saying it was processed.
:D

Just picked mine up an hour ago, so no range report yet. Just finished cleaning the gunk out of it, and seeing how it functions - MAN, is this pistol ever stiff and clunky! Trigger's gritty and heavy, and I got poked with a metal sliver before I even got it back together!!

that being said...best $130 I ever spent :D

Just got the "order processed" email. Bought mine on Jan. 10. This is worse than waiting for Christmas...

I ordered Dec 18, got the "processed" email on Jan 26, arrived Jan 30.

I've torn mine right down and didn't find any sharp edges, machining swarf or gritty trigger. Both mags seem to function properly (haven't been to the range, just cycled inerts). The quality of the machining on the barrel and chamber seems very good. The levers on the inside of the grips were stiff and the grips were very tightly fitted in the frame, I had to gently lever them out with a dowel from the inside. I see no problems but I will do a bit of internal polishing and work the slide on the frame with some fine abrasive compound.

Anybody know how to lighten the trigger pull on one of these?
