Hello,

What are the semi non restricted rifles avail in Canada?
I know of 180B-2 and the XCR. I already have the 180B-2 and the XCR seems like a slightly better version of that...
To make a long story short, it is extremly hard for me to use a bolt action rifle..

Thanks

While I find that statement hard to believe...
You should upgrade to a restricted PAL and play with AR's and such :)

Otherwise.
M1 Garand
Ruger Mini-14/Mini-30
Remington 742/7400
Browning BAR
Benelli R1

Search 180b in the search function, for the black rifles forum and you'll find a thread with the complete list on non restricted black rifles.

If you already have the 180B, you're doing better than I am, as I'm in the 858 price bracket.

You didn't say they had to look cool...:stirthepot2:... so you could go with a Ruger 14 or 30.

Well, A stickly list would be nice...

Think about this, I can only shoot with my left eye, but I am right handed...

Assuming centerfire, military-ish rifles:

$1000 and under:
-CZ858
-M305
-Mini-14
-M1 Garand
-Norinco Type 97
-SKS
-AR180B ($1000 even)

Over $1000:
-CX4 storm -with barrel change
-IWI Tavor T.A.R 21
-SIG Black/Green special
-HK SL8

Might be missing a few.

Not trying to flog a dead horse here, but which of the above are the most left-handed shooter friendly and why? Any southpaws out there that can comment on this? Thanks in advance.

BTW, I have used the search function (which is how I found this post) but this specific question hasn't been answered, not that I can find anyways.

Last I heard, the status of the Type 97 was still in limbo (possible classification change/CFC harassment). Havent followed the story as the T97 wasn't on my short list of "must have" firearms.

Regarding the Ar180B, that price point has long gone (I know this is a 6 month old post). Might find one used for that on the EE, but it wouldn't last long.

It seems that that there are A LOT of really paranoid people on this site! Take it easy guys... there was no 2nd shooter on the grassy nole...

If I recall correctly, there are some homemade deflectors for AK, SKS, CZ 858, M 305/M14s that could be sort of friendly for south paws. Im not sure about Mini 14. There are left handed semiauto sporting rifles, but they're not "tactical" if that's what your looking for. The T97 is right hand only being a bullpup, but the Tavor has a left hand bolt for sale on can am. I don't know about the XCR or M96 but the AR series has deflectors that you can use to fire left handed. Hell, there are so many versions out there, you might find one for leftys. I'm pretty sure the SL8 is ambi' but I don't know anything about the CX4. Also, one of the dealers here on CGN is trying to be a shop for leftys or something.

As for sticky. The reason why they don't sticky this topic is probably due to the fear that antigun nutz will use the thread as "evidence" that CGN is promoting "assault weapons" by posting a list of such "killing devices". If not CGN, just a list for some of them to bark at and cause headaches for all.
