Norinco 1911 A1 grip safety!

Not a lemon ...

Hi,

This pistol is most assuredly NOT a lemon. I use it almost every day, and have no concerns about its ability to do its job safely.

So, the grip-safety on this particular firearm can be defeated. Anybody else out there want to put their $ *200 Wilson / Colt / Kimber / Brown / Para on their kneecap and test the grip-safety?

It's not an issue about brands or the colour of the machinists ... it's only about the shooter's brains. Sheesh!!!

Edit your thread's title!

The thread title should be edited from "Norinco 1911 A1 grip safety! to "Bubba'd grip safety!

It should be obvious that this is neither any fault of Norinco nor any fault of the 1911A1. This is a modified-gun, deactivated-safety, situation. Everybody knows that after you work on a firearm you have to re-check the function.

So you had Bubba "tune" your pistol. If, when you re-check the function, a safety isn't working, it isn't the gun's fault. It's your fault.

You have no idea who tuned the pistol. And you post this?

Sorry, that's just crap, given the confines of the grip safety and spring relationship, it could be fine after the initial installation and then after a couple of hundred rounds develop an issue, the spring could be defective, many, many things can cause this. The only safety is the guy holding the gun (kind of a double edged sword really, because he's probably the only threat too)

Thanks

Hey Ian,

Thanks ... it sounds even better when it's coming from you. And yes, that was exactly the case ... it worked perfectly for about a year.
