45/70 in 45 Colt/410 combo gun?

.303 cases can make good .410 shotshells, but with the plethora of good hulls available for cheap like Winchester HD's, not much point.

senior, the problem with trying to swag down a .45-70 case to .45LC diameter would be twofold, the much larger rim would have to be turned down, and you'd end up with a case head bulge that might not chamber as the case head is much larger in diameter than the .410 or .45LC.

:redface: Opps, I did not bother to check rim dia, I had assumed the gentleman in question had already verified they would slip in the 45LC chamber, again my bad :redface:
 
you watch- the next one is going to be- i got a half inch piece of steel pipe from canadian tire and mated it to the back half of my 12 guage cooey 39- is it ok to fire 50bmg in there?

i wasn't trying to look cool- there have been about a dozen or more questions trying to fit something into something else's chamber over the last couple of weeks and i have contributed more than my fair share of explainations in a calm and civilzed matter- and they've all been guys with very low post count- i WAS TRYING TO INJECT SOME HUMOR into this situation-as were the rest of the guys that followed- the questions and the manner in which they're asked leads one to believe that the asker knows NOTHING about bore diameters, chamber pressure,case dimensions ,or action strengths- and lord knows there's been a PLAGUE of these in the last little while
