.375 H & H Magnum Shilen 26 inch barrel on a trued 700. One inch muzzle - 11 pounds in a Sendero stock, glassed and floated trigger 2.5 pounds.

Easy on recoil with lots of smack at the other end.

I could see myself with that; if the barrel was bobbed to 22 inches, and there was a Gentry safety installed. Possimly an aftermarket metal floorplate as well.

Interesting stock and barrel choice. I guess everyone has different tastes, but that is a blueprint I'd never commission.

Beautiful job Dennis....I'd be really interested to know what the accuracy will be especially since the big H&H has been a favourite of mine long before I had grey hair.
It should have plenty of reach with that barrel length too...
Do you know what it will wear for glass ?

Whatever blows yer hair back! As long as your having fun and not robbing grannies, who cares?

I guess that's why they call us gun-NUTZ

I agree with supercub. I myself would rather have an H&H in a 7 lb. rifle, but I think it would be interesting to see what sort of accuracy the round itself is capable of. The .300 H&H was a smash hit at Wimbledon 1000 meter, no reason why the parent cartridge couldn't hold its own. I have a friend that took 2 deer with 2 shots with the .375 at a measured 330+ yards. Sometimes there has to be someone among us to ask, "what if . . ."

I have shot a 375 H&H that Dennis chambered for a buddy of mine..It has a Shilen also.

The owner of the rifle is an atrocious reloader (cases differing lengths, crushed primers, maximum velocity, etc.) yet my 100 yards groups were both a bit less than 3/4"....I'd like to see what it would do with a load carefully tailored for accuracy! The 6X Leupold was also making it tough for my questionable eyesight.

I have a new 375 Ultra that Dennis built for me...Will let you know how it shoots.... I bet it rips a 5/8" or smaller hole!
