Is the Tikka T3 the new Remington 700?

Remington may be the top return with issues, but that's probably because they sell more rifles than other manufactures

every broken Remington Ive seen has been fixed quickly by the warranty center. Same can be said for Tikka though in my experiences

one s**tty thing about the T3 is the lack of aftermarket parts. My issue is not for upgrading, but for replacing factory parts that break. A customer recently emailed me about needing a new stock for his T3 that broke in half in an accident, I called Stoeger for a price for a replacement synthetic and they want $450 for one

$450! :eek::eek::rolleyes:

Sounds cheap when you consider that a clip is 80 bucks.

Sounds obscenely expensive when a laid up fiberglass stock from McMillan is the same price! That can be had with a magazine system that can be top fed and won't hinder a rifle next to useless when it falls out or is misplaced....(grin)

It is obscenely expensive, for both the clip and stock, but what can you do other than be careful not to lose it or break it! Tikka can can still be top fed, however but it is a bit difficult without the clip in place.

Interestly though, I've never misplaced a clip for any of my guns in over 35 years of shooting but I guess it can happen. Vanessa did pick up an extra one for Africa just in case.

I agree, but I did lose one once. Fortunately there was snow on the ground and I was able to backtrack and found it.

With all this Tikka talk, I may have to pick one up and give it a whirl. If nothing else they're lefty friendly! :D

And occasionally iron sight equipped!

Still trying to figure out why I spent the extra dough on the A7 vs the Tikka though....damn marketing hype! Oh ya, it's CRF and that's so much better for grizzly defence while sheep hunting...;)

Naw, I'm a pussy and whimped out for the .270WSM.......I know what that says about my manhood and that I should never head into the mountains again but I'm just not worthy of a big bore!

Not to hijack this thread but I just checked my Sako A7 and its not CRF? Did you get an A7 or an 85? I picked up a Sako A7 in 270WSM... My A7 has another lug on the bolt but its still got the push feed with the ejection plunger...

It was another of those attempts at humour that did not transcend the interweb. It goes back to another old thread. You are 100% correct that the A7 is not a CRF action.
