That is a rather extensive list. And the jacking of license fees etc is just asinine.
He sure isn't wasting any time in bloating at least part of the government agencies to carry out all this paperwork and sh!t. I wonder if his new "Home Guard" will be tasked with door to door searches of Americans to take their guns??

Well, before anyone gets into too much of a panic, just remember, if Obama wants to get re-elected, he is going to have to be very careful not to go too far during his first administration. If he were to be re-elected, that is when he will have nothing to lose, that is when I would really start to worry!

The gun grabbers are linked worldwide, dominate the UN where they are loved by dictators who want their populations unarmed and defenceless, and have tons of money porvided by billionaire George Soros. They will try anything that has been shown to work or be accepted in another country. Banning anything in a military caliber is a favorite european and latin american trick. Registration of all transfers is borrowed from the Canadians and expect to see them try to soft soap gun bans by applying Canadian style grandfathering next...

Well, I for one am very skeptical that they can go as far as what's been talked about so far.
The U.S. supreme court recently ruled in support of 2nd amendment rights when it came to overturning the handgun ban in DC, which fully supported (and clarified) the right to keep and bear arms. The Obama democrats may have a desire, but U.S. citizens have a recently re-enforced constitutional right.
This latest ruling by the U.S. supreme court has new teeth (according to the NRA), which now sets precedence for any attempt to ban any firearm from use by U.S. citizens. The NRA has already promised another court challenge to a new assault weapons ban being promised by President O-Ban-Me.
I think you're going to see quite a few court cases if the democrats go the way we think they are.
Either way, I think it's a foregone conclusion that we better start stockpiling parts locally, 'cause not much is going to be coming out of the U.S. no matter what happens.

Gun-ban list proposed...
For the last several months, the NRA and similar organizations have been using the election of Obama as a basis for fund raising and membership drives. They are doing this by using rumours and speculation to whip the gun-owning public into a frenzy. Obama, and the people attached to him, have not breathed the word "gun" in public since Hilary was the front-runner. All the stuff you see like this is coming from "our" side.
I don't believe a single word of it. It may be what they want to do, but they have no chance of getting away with it, and they know it.
Because it is the same made up fictitious crap that was posted here before.

I can't help but ask myself how things like this keep happening. How someone like Obama got elected, how so many known corrupt politicians are taking their places in seats of power and authority... it just keeps happening. It's not from a lack of trying and desperate letter writing on the parts of us firearm owners here in the U.S...

My dist has told me about the increase in license fee which is now $250. That was done by the State dept to increase their own revenues so that they would run the program without federal funds.
Seems the present financial mess is forcing some agencies to be self fund.
Right now, our biggest restriction is by the US manf who decide not to establish export licenses. Yes, it is expensive but they pass on the $250 per lic fee to the end user so that is not really a burden on them.
My conversation with a variety of companies is that we are so busy now filling US demand, export is not even a concern. I have to think that after this frenzy is finished and those that want to stock up have, there is going to be quite the vacuum in sales.
We might not look so bad at that point.
What little I know about the US politics, I know that Dems tend to be anti gun and Rep. tend to favor them. But right now, the real problem is keeping USA from imploding financially.
That requires political cooperation by both parties. If I were Obama, I wouldn't be stirring the pot by attacking such a polarizing topic in my first 100days. Way bigger fish to fry.
Maybe, year two or three when this crisis has past.
But right now, the uncertainty sure has fueled sales. And given the current economy, this is just the cash injection this industry needs right now.
Plus it is likely the god send that will allow manf to pass on the commodity price increases of 2008.
Hopefully, Obama will let sleeping dogs lie...

Very true, and I hope you end up being right and Obama focuses on the economy at least for now. But on the other hand, in a few months it would be very politician-like of him to focus public attention on a polarizing issue like this to distract the public from the fact that all of his spending has done little or nothing to change the course of the economic meltdown...

There IS talk of prohibiting "export" of firearms chambered in .223 (5.56mm) and .308 (7.62mm) as well as the accompanying ammo.
This is PROPOSED legislation and has NOT as yet passed in the house. It is not law as yet. Presently, the state dept has stopped issuing any new export permits for these two calibers. Existing permits (orders) in the system for these firearms will be fulfilled.
Because something is proposed and leaked to the media does not make it law. Cause for concern, yes. Cause for PANIC, nope! (not yet anyways)

Plus with American attitude, it would be one helluva rough ride to try and prohib/ban what the proposal says.

This list is BS. The list includes firearms that are already banned when Presidient George Bush 1 signed an EO--executive order banning foreign made "assault rifles". This legislation created the 922r ruling by the ATF that requieres certain amount of USA made parts or the gun is considered a foreign made "assault rifle" . The executive order still stands and had nothing to do with the sunsetted AWB---Assault Weapon Ban. For example , Bush1 's EO banned the Franchi SPAS, LAW 12 , and the streetsweeper back in 1989 from importation into the USA. Anything here was grandfathered inbut there has been no more since 89. Another example is the Tavor, not sold in the USA since it does not meet the 922r regualtions and thus is not importable due to the lack of USA made parts .
