Typical of T/C's marketing...they bring out the expensive parent model for a couple years then follow up with an inexpensive version. They also have a tactical version and a varmint version of the Icon new for 2009. I like the the look of the Bone Collector in dark grey but for a company that has had some huge innovations the past few years, there's not much from them this year but asthetic changes.

all i know , is that maybe this year ill buy me a ICON™ PRECISION HUNTER IN .223 OR MAYbe 308 thats if i get a good deal , like it did oN MY ENDEAVOR

That does sound like something you'd get with a microwave and not a rifle doesn't it? I think it's a fancy way of saying it has a fluted barrel but I'm not sure....

The ported cooling channels in the forend draw cooler air up and around the largest part of the barrel enabling maximum air circulation for cooling and consistent accuracy.

Sounds awesome.

I see they're offering the Icon weathershield in a long action now as well.

The Venture model looks like a whole new receiver. Must be cheaper to make than just using the Icon one?
