SKS's selling fast - how many sold this year?

Well, it appears retailers can't keep the SKS in stock. How many of these have they sold this year, anyway? Is this all just Average Joes buying them up? 'Cuz they are selling so fast, it makes you wonder exactly who is purchasing them, and for what! Is there a private army somewhere now, armed with the SKS?

And it's too bad that everyone is driving the price up for them too (they are still cheap compared to other rifles, but are going up). Pretty soon they will be about the same prices as the CZ858. It especially sucks that us Easterners have to pay through the nose for shipping on the crate ammo, since nobody stocks it out here.

Well, that's my complaining for the day! :D

What you haven't been recruited as yet?

We are the peoples liberation army of Kanada and are preparing to repel the mongol hoardes who are preparing their attack. They were sighted floating towards Kanada on icebergs just off the southeast coast.

Go get yerself an SKS and a crate of ammo before it is too late!

It is normal that prices do go up eventually. The $399 Norc M14-s will soon be seling for well over $3000 once supply dries up. Did you buy one?

They days of the $139 SKS are gone forever, as are the $15 Lee Enfields. When I was a boy, Lee's sold for $15 each. Them days are gone. (sigh)

It's not hard to find a SKS & a crate of ammo if you want one. Got a norc & a crate for $230 each in Halifax. Spur of the moment buy, if I shopped around, I could of found cheaper ones.
Wanting for my Russian which should be cheaper.

The enfields are still $15 bucks but with inflation are more like $75- $100. We've bought a few with the most expensive being $125. My bud even bought a "parts" one that ended up being a good shooter for $15 bucks last year. the deals are still there.........

oh ya, and I have a new Norinco M-14 for sale for $3000. no tax.

Lonewolf, where'd you find that SKS and ammo in Halifax?

Army Navy store, this was back in November.
They weren't familiar with the firearms laws though. Said I needed a trigger lock to transport and dummy grenades were illegal.

Aren't the Norinco's like $139 on Marstar they're out of stock now but hopefully they'll have more when I get my PAL/RPAL in a month. I wanna get 5 for my family/friends as SHTF rifles :| :)

Lol... even if they sold for $99, I'd still hesitate about buying one. A couple of years ago (yes, only a couple - about 5, not more than that) I had the chance to buy a brand new (unfired) Springfield M-14 semi-auto .308 with 3 mags (mags were US issue and still packaged in plastic) at a local gun store. They've received one as a trade-in and didn't care about milsurps, so they were letting it go for $350 cash, no tax. I hesitated and didn't end up buying it... as it seemed somewhat overpriced (at the time).

Today, if I could go back in time, I definitely would buy it... Who would've known that people would be going apesh*t over cheap copies of that rifle and paying almost twice as much for these copies just a few years later.

On that note, I've held/played with both the Springfield and the Norc, and let me tell you... the difference between the two is night & day. The Norc has a POS finish compared to the original US M-14. And the $399 is already an overpriced tag for a Norc IMHO. If you're gonna buy one, save some extra cash and buy the real deal.

As for the $3000 Norc M-14's... no comment! (dream on, dreamer!) :p

Those Norinco SKSs have been out of stock for years now. I wouldnt hold my breath! If you are getting your RPAL, Marstar will have those sweet VZ58s for sale soon, they are a lot nicer than SKSs.

I have a pineapple dummy grenade, but I honestly have no idea what the grenade the Yugo would fire even looks like! Time to google... interesting.

I've wanted one of those Russian SKS for awhile, but it seems like everytime I check out an add, I get ##### slapped with the words "SOLD OLD".

I should probably do what I did for my Grizzlys: Pull over wherever I may be, kick on the 4 ways and make the call. Traffic can go around.

Worst that can happen is that I get rear ended. Better that than missing the boat again.

Edit: Just noticed I missed the boat on the AR180B-2's. I just cant win.
