I know some of us on here don't want to spend top dollar just yet on certain things and for me, a spotting scope isn't too much of an important purchase. Rather use the few extra hundred dollars and plan that into the rifle instead.

Now that we have that settled, has anybody purchased/used the Canadian Tire 20-60x Spotting scope?

I've been trying to find out what brand it is and for some reason I found the name Celestron. I did a google search and they seem similar yet different.

Has anybody purchased this scope? The local gunshop was trying to get me to buy a Tasco spotting scope but I'd rather trust this product more then anything from Tasco...

anybody own this?

dont know but i was looking at the same trying to decide if i should get it ,but on the flip side if its crap canadian tire will exchange it or refund so i am going to get this week most likly.

My brother and I used one for long-range gopher shooting, it worked fine for that. I 'm sure you are going to get better glass for more money, but for the money, its a pretty good deal!

I think I've just had bad luck then, I've returned 2.
Last time the were on sale for 50% off or something like that, I picked one up, but the sight picture didn't seem centred, and couldn't focus properly. Returned it, and got another, similar problem focus knob just shifted the image around and never quite got it in to focus...

I bought the 50%-off CTC Bushnell spotter; it worked great for spotting at 25m and 50m shooting (I do a lot of rimfire plinking). Inexpensive, reliable, and good value for the price. It works as advertised - just don't be expecting it to compare to a $300 spotting scope! ;)

I bought one last year & the optics were about the quality of a coke bottle at 100 yards. Back it went.
Other posts have have good luck with them so I would suggest that quality on these scopes is erratic.

Also, CTC sells 2 different ones during the 50%-off sales, so just be aware...:)
