It's a catch22 thing.
Because this rifle isn't used by the military or based on a rifle that was, it's unrestricted and we can get them no problem.
The other side of the coin is that 6.8 ammo might be harder to come by, but hopefully Wolverine will help us with that too.

The 6.8 will be excellent for anything up to deer size animals. The XCR albeit not a bench rest piece, would be a perfect carry with a single point sling in the bush. I still say that extra weight up front is a good thing as it helps to stabilize off hand shots. This rifle may have its calling for deer in 6.8 SPC. But will never know until we see em...:D:stirthepot2:

Just so everybody has this straight: Again, the 7.62 x 39mm is not going to happen here in Canada right now as the U.S. will not allow its export. The 6.8 is the next best option for XCR owners. The 6.5 Grendel would be nice but its availability maybe even tougher & would mags be an issue? When & if a 308 model makes it up here, I will probably order one. Does anybody have a ball park figure as to their cost in U.S.D.?

The cost for our XCR rifles in 6.8 at this time is $1880.98 USd at the Robinson site.
That's $2,305.97 CAD today.

The people who buy the .308 will be kicking themselves in the end.

When Robarms makes a .22 kit, it will be for the XCR-L. We will be blasting away with unlimited magazines and 12" barrels in the bushes while the .308 guys are paying a buck a round with no chance of converting to anything else.

243 Win
7mm-08 Remington
308 Win
338 Federal

I would so be in for the .308 when it comes out.
Be hard pressed choising from the RFB and XCR. If proven they are both reliable that is.

Edit - i also want to see what these new folding stocks look like.

I thought the state department was limiting any type of magazine that exceeded 10 rounds. Have heard of several people who have been unable to get extended magazines for Ruger 10/22's.

I really don't think a little 22 round could cycle an XCR action, but I could be wrong.
This is for those who have decided to go with the XCR in 6.8 cal.
Lots of info, and load data.

6.8 components

Epps has brass and dies.Sierra 110gr.Pro hunter is very accurate. Hornady's 110gr. V-Max and HP also work well.Benchmark, H-322, andIMR-4198.Remington brass takes a large rifle primer.SSA brass uses a small rifle primer, but is hard to come by(waiting 4 months).P&D, Bashaw Sports also have brass. One of the most accurate cartridges available IMHO.

Just got off the phone with Adam at Epps and ordered the dies & shell holder. Thanks for the info.
Just got a call back. No shell holder, its on order...

Cool, one of those 6.8s would be mine.
Did they give an eta for the 6.8s?
I want to be ready with enough ammo to break it in the first day at the pit.

I found the XCR forums, and there's a lot of XCR wisdom, fixes, and tricks on that site.
I haven't posted, I don't have an XCR yet.
Now to stock up on brass, powder and bullets.
