Legit Enfield Scope mount?

Was told that this may be a WW2/Korean Scope Mount. Looked at some books and looks similar to Commonwealth ones from the time period but there are no markings on the scope mount. Can any Prove or Disprove. Or is this just a repo and i got a fun little story.

Will this fit a Lee Enfield Type 1 Mark 3* either way?

Looks like an old commercial mount to me. It will not fit a No.1 LE without drilling and tapping the receiver.

The WWII mount for the No.4T sniper rifle ... sort of ... resembles this one, but not really.

The No.32 telescope attaches to two pads on the receiver. The scope has a mount, made of cast malleable iron, that has two rings connected by an arm, and the whole thing screws onto the pads with thumbscrews. It is removeable, but in reality it would have been left attached to keep the zero.

Those have been around for about 50 years and they are NOT No.4 sniper mounts. They were made in Canada (unknown mfr.) and sold through several surplus stores to allow mounting a scope on the No.4 rifle. There also was one for the SMLE but they are scarce. There was another model that had some washers to allow it to be used on both the No.3 and the No.4 rifle...or so the instruction sheet said.

Not wildly valuable...it has kind of a homemade look to it, but with that instruction sheet with it...I'm sure Wheaty knows of what he speaks.

Made in Canada = interesting, but not wildly valuable.

Don't think one would need to drill and tap for this mount, The holes in it appear to be where the ejector screw and the saftey would be.,
