dominion arms backpacker short review

true, except it stops the barrel from falling out when its attached:p

i dropped the barrel in the snow twice, before i finally started to hold it while i was ejesting the spent shell.

btw, duct tape stands out too much, i was thinking of using a couple passes of electrical tape, to make it look like a barrel band:D

Black zap straps.

I got the same problem. I am planning to call Canam tomorrow. Mine starting to fall off after the 4th shot. And every subsequent shot after that the fore end would let go. Anybody else experiencing this issue?

So how did it shoot?

brutal, oh you mean accuracy, i'm not sure.

the first shot i wasn't aiming at anything, just getting a feel for it, after that i just tried a couple to see if the problem would rectify itself.

5 x 2 3/4 00B was enough, i never even made it to the slugs:redface:

CR must have been chomping at the bit to say that! i hope he feels a lot better now.

Yes I do:D but I really did not have to say anything! The complaints on this thread and others say it all! You get what you pay for!

Now, what I am interested in hearing is what kind of after sale service these disappointed buyers will get.

Can someone post some detailed pics of the locking lug under the barrel and latch in the forend? Maybe as a group we can analize how the recoil motion is unlatching the forend and come up with a simple solution.

One of the funniest threads in a while. I actually laughed for a change.:dancingbanana:
I can't share the joy or even say "I told you so." I take no pleasure that owners are experiencing forends that don't stay attached, rough chambers, guns that won't ####, poorly-regulated barrels, high POI, bruised fingers and preservative oil with a faint whiff of "shyte." And this is from light use and test firing. We'll see what happens when the round count gets to a few hundred.

From the beginning several posters here including me have tried to point out some facts about these guns. In return we've been called gun snobs, elitists, Fudds and, in my case, accused of racism of by one pasty-faced little arsewipe who enjoys the honour of being the very first person on my ignore list.

So where are the defenders of all things Chinese? So very quiet now aren't we lads and rightfully so. Your gushing about these guns caused people here to buy them and now that they are having trouble you don't seem to have much to say.

FWIW, if one member here paused before buying one of these POS guns, let someone else have the initial "experience" and has decided to buy something else then it was worth the trouble (and the infraction.) :)

I am waiting for my Outlaw to arrive so that I can test it myself. I base my opinions of a product on actual use.

TBS the initIal results regarding the QC sound disappointing.

My SKS, HP9-1 and NP-29 are great guns. This opinion is based on a lot of actual use.

My M-93 is a POS based on my range experiences with it.

So I call em as I see em based on actually using the firearm.

Let's face it, for $300 it'll be a fun, toy gun for most of us. If it's a write-off then who cares, I spend more on cell phone calls each month.

Hey people want cheap...they get cheap. No point complaining about it. QC, proofing, quality and features... It's amazing what manufacturers can do when they operate in a country that considers its people as a disposable renewable resource, and where accountability is only taught in university level Western Mythology courses.

I have nothing against Norinco or China, but I do get a kick when people buy something that costs less than half of what the next nearest competitor charges and then looks suprised when the item turns out to be a dud.

Good luck with the warranty. It worse comes to worst, you can always take the money you saved on the initial purchase and get a competent gunsmith to fix it for you.

I recall an analogy regarding animal feed, i.e., for your livestock
(for those of us who live in the boonies)

" ... good quality first class hay generally comes at a fair price,
the stuff that's been through the animal once comes a lot cheaper. " ;)

My dominion mag fed shotgun is treating me just fine. Hundreds of other people have also been satisfied with their Dominion products. But like all Chinese products you will see quality control issues and hear of some horror stories.

The thing that makes a Chinese product viable is the importer. I can buy a firearm from marstar or canadammo with confidence because they both stand by their products. QC issues will inevitably appear from most manufacturers (Chinese more so, I admit) but as long as the seller is willing to fix or replace the lemons when they show up, I don't really have a problem with this.

It is one thing to put together a pump gun but a sxs is a more challenging prospect. No matter who makes it the quality of the gun is directly related to the skill, experience and time spent on each gun. That's why the good sxs and o/u cost more and the cheapest usually leave the owners disappointed.

Even something as simple as a forend latch seems to be beyond the Chinese manufacturers.
