I bought new stock for my No 4 Lee Enfield 4MK1 and wondering about getting stock off. seems that maybe pins on the side hold it in place. Is that right? Wondering how to get stock off. It was already sportirized before I got it. thanks in advance

Check the Technical Articles for Milsurp Collectors and Re-loaders (click here)http://www.milsurps.com/forumdisplay.php?f=25

1991 No.4 (All Marks) .303 Rifle Manuals (click here)http://www.milsurps.com/showthread.php?t=3322

Complete Set includes:

- 1991 No.4 (All Marks) .303 Rifle Operating Instructions
- 1991 No.4 (All Marks) .303 Rifle Maintenance Instructions

Note: The difference between this older set of No.4 Manuals and the 2002 No.4 (All Marks) .303 Rifle Manuals (click here)http://www.milsurps.com/showthread.php?t=3314, is that the 1991 manual contains armourer's information on how to properly "bed" the No.4 rifle, whereas the newer 2002 manual does not.

Badger

He's probably referring to the little forestock support brace, thingy-ma-jiggy doo-dad near the wrist socketty whatcha-ma-jogger.

I believe that's the technical terminology.

Just take out the king screw in front of the mag, and the little one behind the trigger guard. Remove trigger assembly, and mag and assuming the top wood is off, gently pull the fore stock away from the action. Don't force it and don't twist or lever it .

thanks to all for the help. Was sportirized before I got it. added the scope on about 5 years ago. Just added ATI camo stock today.
Making a second gun for wife since she is going for her hunting licence. And no for deer she can use my 243 and I will use the 303.

Before and after. Have no need for wood I took off now. It is in good shape. Just had to make a change or would have bought a new 30.06. My worst fear already is when I die my wife will sell my hunting equipment for what I told her I paid for it. :) :)
