6BR questions

I've got an idea for a rifle project with this calibre.
Couple of questions first though:
1. What is barrel life on this cal.?
2. What would its performance and accuracy be in 22" barrel?
3. What bolt face is needed to make it work (compatible calibres for donor action)?

Barrel Life should be 2000+ Rounds unless you decide to shoot ultra hot loads
I am getting phenominal accuracy in a 24 1/2" barrel
Standard Boltface (22-250, .308, 243, etc)

Why a 22" barrel? Tactical 6BR?

Barrel life will be dependent on what barrel and how you use it. Count on - with heavy bullets and reasonable powder loads and sufficient cool-down - 2500-3000 or more accurate competitive rounds, less if you are shooting hot loads or light bullets

Barrel length has absolutely no direct correlation with accuracy (longer does NOT mean more accurate, often the opposite is true) and neither does velocity. The gun will tell you how fast it wants to shoot its bullets for optimal accuracy.

As Cy said, a standard .480 ("308") bolt face
 
Wouldn't a 6BR be right at home on Remington LVSF type of configuration?

Or is it just me?

Groundhog, 'yote's and the odd deer with 85gr. TSX's? A non-high volume walkabout killer that is easy on barrels and doesn't kick too much. Enough gun for deer but not too much for everything else. Am I the only that can see it?
 
Other than the fact I would never use anything but a cut barrel if I was using fluting, yes, it would be a great choice. Unfortunately Remington has not embraced the concept of using ultra accurate cartridge chamberings in many of their rifles. This is where Savage has them beat. The Long Range Precision Varmint rifle from Savage is available in 6mmBR Norma

One of his Kreiger's would be the cats ass on any action IMO, particularly a trued Remington.

6BR would be a great caliber for what you want it for.
