Chinese Proof Testing

I assume you will be holding all importers and all gunsellers to a similar standard, and I presume that standard is they all go to each factory they get guns from and watch each gun being made and tested?
The short answer to your question is no. It's not necessary because the guns they are importing or selling are with rare exceptions either subject to CIP or SAAMI proof or originate in a country where there is more reliable record for consumer protection than China.

I posed the question about Chinese proof testing. What we have is a dealer saying his contact in China asserts the guns are proof tested. Whether that's sufficient for potential buyers is strictly up to them.

My question has been answered and the matter is now resolved from where I stand.

So, ARE there proof marks stamped on these barrels, or not? Are there ANY stamps on these barrels?

I'd like to see some photos of any such stamps if someone can oblige.

Who knows? We have a dealer that stated that he did not know, then he stated they were not proofed and then he stated that they were because someone told them they were? On top of that, many of the posts were deleted or edited. Reminds me of the X- files. The truth is out there:D I got my answers.:D

My questions stand. :)

I think that question has been answered but if not your question should stand! I think one of those proud new owners could take a few moments to send us a pic of a proof mark. It would sure shut up a fudd like me:D

... We have had very few back, but dozens of calls of appreciation from owners.

"Very few" ... how many is that exactly out of the dozens sold? 4, 8, 14? How many?

Out of these "dozens sold", how many haven't fired them yet to know better? How many of these owners who've never owned a shotgun before they bought into this one and don't realize the true quality? How many of these sold aren't on CGN to express their opinion? How many owners out there don't want to say anything negative to offend you or geopardize your investment?

From the "very few" alone, haven't you come to realize that these guns are not what you were led to believe by the same people who pull the wool over your eyes with regiments of these guns being proofed.

... and the silence so far about ANY proof stamps on these barrels.

What does all this translate into for me who doesn't even own a chinese gun? I now have to be aware of what the guy in the next stall is shooting so I don't get any of his fore-end parts embedded in my fore-head.
I undesrtand you brought these guns in by popular CGN demand, but some of us never asked for the extra responsibilities looking out for flying shrapnel on the firing line. I had hoped you, the dealer would be concerned about this before the fact.

Thank God, I at least don't have to worry about my own guns. All my barrels have proper proof marks on them.

Apparently CR doesn't like this Gif, but CGN makes it available to me, and with all due respect to the individual behind a post, it comments not so much on the poster, as the post they made, and thus, I believe it applies here as well :jerkit:

Of course those of you who want some little stamp on something are right, anything, anything at all to do with a gun, that doesn't have a little stamp of a unicorn, or shield or whatever is unsafe and crap, as a result I will be sending my Dlask 12ga barrel back to Dlask citing my concerns that clearly it is junk, as, just like my Outlaw, all it has on the barrel is the name of the maker (and a serial # tag in the case of the outlaw, that even the Dlask doesn't have). Pure, unmitigated junk, who knew it, or that it was unsafe, I guess anyone who has shot my Dlask, or been at the range when I was there should have been warned in person that I was using an insanely dangerous barrel since it didn't have a stamp on it, ohhhhhh woe is me, how close I must have come to utter detruction, I guess the Dlask and the Outlaw go back until the makers invent some sort or little company stamp other than their name on the actual product, to sooth the fears of gun owners.... which really sucks, cuz I would put my Dlask above any other shotgun makers barrel in the world, but no little stamp :(

You are forgetting that the Dlask barrel was made my Canadians! This whole issue boils down to some people beliveing that the Chinese are inferior and do not possess the mental ability to construct a working firearm. We would not even see these posts if the firearms were manufactured in some "real" country run by WASP's. :jerkit:

Dlask barrels are made thicker than the REM barrels. I would think Dlask to care a bit more about his Canadians customers than someone who sends their money to china for guns then compares figs to melons.

That would be because the chinese don't know how to make guns. Have you not read the posts where the Outlaws are falling apart on the firing line and spewing fore-end parts about for one. :p

...and that would be "WOP" you jerkit. :D FYI, it stands for "Without Overseas Pass", so it is wrong to refer to resident Italians as WOPS as they never left the "real" Country.

... and YES, they do make the best guns in the world. Always have, always will. :D FORZA ITALIA. :dancingbanana:

I have two norc barrel, but will not be around them until Sunday. At which point, if nobody else has checked. I will post pics of the barrels with or without markings.

Also I must point out, and this is stricktly matter of fact and nuetral. The Dlask barrels are significantly thicker than both my norc barrels.

You raised a concern about stamps, and proof stamps, Dlask has none, nor by the way do many other small and indeed some large manufactures, surely if Norinco is crap, these others must be as well? Or is it just that they are Chinese? Or Nornico?

I dont think wall thickness is an indicator of the barrels ability to pass a proof test. Metals and thier composition vary alot...plenty of over hardened metals are weak and brittle...plenty of thin metals are extremely strong...

Really? Name one of these "other" manufacturers that have their guns fall apart in your hands right out of the box.

By the content and demeaner of your posts, you seem to be in denial of the bad purchase you made. You're knee jerking us with comparisons between figs and melons and want to pass speculative reasons to justify your brain fart.

I've heard of poor accuracy straight out of the box, referred to as minute of barn, but this one is for the books. 100% GUARANTEED TO FALL APART IN YOUR HANDS WITH ACCURACY OF MINUTE OF CHINA.

China makes great plastic spoons, but guns, they haven't a clue. So yes, to all three of your questions.

And Barstow used to make ones for 870s that make Dlasks look positively anemic, no stamps there either. Just sayin :shotgun:

Barstow is not a firearms manufacturer, but an American barrel maker. Mighty damn great quality barrel maker at that. China specializes in plastic spoons. There you go, comparing fruit again.

Easy now Easy......Easy,

There is no doubt that Chinese guns are rough around the edges and it is very hard to argue that they are better then other guns produced at greater cost in other countries....

How many Chinese guns have you personally owned that were lemons Easy?

By your tone you are not a fan of Chinese guns period. Fair enough...but why the need to spread your gospel?

What are you afraid of?

It's amazing how much of a hate on some people have for these guns!

There have been some very valid points raised around these guns, but to conclude that they are all crap because some of them are having issues is a stretch.

If you read enough gun forums you will hear people complaining about crap they bought from almost all the manufacturer's and some guns are well known for their poor performance out of the box.

As long as the distributor is willing to warranty the guns with no shipping charges, ( which he has stated) there is not much risk with these cheap shotguns as far as getting a lemon goes....as far as them blowing up on the line and injuring the shooter and others near by well that just sounds like Liberal Media Fearmongering to me...

You're right.

This thread started with if anyone knows how the chinese test proof their shotguns. Some have tried to gloss over facts that the chinese don't do any such testing dismissing the importance of test proofing a gun. This has got the best of me. As you can see, there are plenty of people who are not happy with their purchase and a small amount has been delivered so far. :) I'll cool my jets now, thank you.

28.57% not happy with their purchase, according to the owers only poll.
