Ok, since it didn't sell I might as well continue on with the project I started. Need to know what stocks will fit my Stevens. Its a .243 SA, the type that when you remove the barrel and action the blind mag is mounted in the stock not to the action. I'm thinking about ordering one from Savagesupply.com but open to any other ideas that anyone might have. I know one of the savage models, I think its the 110, stocks are interchangable but would like to confirm this. Thanks for the help.

You have a new gen stock and there are precious few options at this time.

I am working on getting some HS stocks. Other companies are available but I avoiding discussing due to export restrictions.

Whatever stock you get, make sure you confirm that the bolt spacing is 4.40" not the readily available 4.25".

You can just get a single shot follower from me and glue it into the bottom of the action or use the mag spring/follower to hold it up.

Yes, any stock can be modified. The polymer that is used takes epoxy very well.

That would be cool. I'm in the middle of taking my machining course and trying to play with machining a stock out of a block of aluminum.

At minus 20, that would give new meaning to the term "cheek weld".

Did you mean sharpshootersupply.com? Got one from them for my center feed (which yours is) I like it and it got here quick.

This was the idea I was kind of thinking about.....

u dont like the gun?

just wondering why you wanted to sell the gun? im looking at buying a stevens in 243 and wondered why you might be selling yours

Was looking to sell it to upgrade to a Savage with a heavier barrel and a stainless action or to move into a Remington 700sps stainless as my buddies already shoot them and they've got extra parts.:redface::redface:
Nothing wrong with the gun, put about 100 rounds through it with zero problems and getting about 1.5" 5 shot groups at 100m with a crappy Chinese scope. Upgraded to a much better Nikon scope and expecting that to bring it into MOA without much trouble. Thinking about rechambering it in 7-08 when I do a barrel upgrade.

Talked to my instructor today and he's interested in the stock idea as well and is going to see about helping me make one soon. I'll keep you guys informed as to how the built goes.

Pricing out a 3"x3"x3' now, gonna be a fun build. Might do a smaller one out of skeleton-ized steel and micarta for my .17hmr. God I knew becoming a machinist was a very bad idea!!! :dancingbanana::dancingbanana::dancingbanana:
