I was at my local guns-hop looking at his overpriced mil-surps when I came across this interesting smle. Instead of having the usual markings on the RH side on the metal band separating the butt-stock and for-stock, there was what
looked like a tiger stamped into the metal. it was surrounded by characters that looked like burmese or something.

Whats the story on these?

"...any collector value?..." Not really any more than any other No. 1. Mind you, you may run into an Enfield collector who doesn't have one. You don't see very many of 'em around though.

Any idea on the price he was asking? Note: these are a batch of 10,000 rifle made, not like the millions of reg smle's.

Yeah, look under the rear hand guard. Rust, pitting, etc. They were exposed to allot of moisture. Additionally, all matching serial numbers bolt, reciever, barrel, rear sight, forestock, nose cap. in decent shape?

$500, why not make an offer if it's ok??

Pete

Is it something i should snap up for $500 or is it an ok deal?

I'm sure It will depend a bit on condition and matching etc. I'll take another look at it when the re-open tuesday.

It's all about condition and how much you want it... Is it a hole in the Lee Enfield collection? Is the rifle near mint? There's allot of questions to ask yourself.

You could always hold off for another rifle later on?

Ah the questions......
