Norinco M4

I had a CQ 311 that i bought Brand new for $500 bucks. It was my first AR. Heck of a deal for 500. It went bang everytime i shot it and got me hooked on the platform. When i built my 14.5 inch M-4, i couldnt see the need for 2 AR's so I traded it EVEN for a used Remingtion Marine Magnum, I think it was very fair trade.

Unfortunatley the more you know the more you want, and now I have a 11.5 inch AR and just finsihed a 9mm Build that is a tack driver, I love it and I am now thinking about getting back into a full length as well, Addictive as hell.

I just came from a US gunshow today. Difference between a Canadian and US gunshow, in canada you have 100's of old shot guns way over priced. In the states you have 1000's of AR's and Pistols at really good prices, I didnt have enough money for all the stuff i wanted!!!

The CQ is a solid buy, But dont spend too much, a Gun is not the Sum of all the add on's you have put on it, plus retail. It is a used gun if you have shot it, price it fairly. I think a used CQ right now should be going for 6-700 bucks thats fair, Considering Demand and inflation, and considering that the New Norc M-4 is going to be what 890? I would said that is a fair to good price. Once you get over 700 you can start to look at other sporter models that have much better fit and finish.

Does anyone else have any other advice? Or am I way off base here?

CQ= Metric threads UGLY ASS furniture and Craptacular finish. I don't agree with a used CQ going for $700. For $190 more you get, imperial threads, 14.5" barrel, proper furniture, collapsable stock and a WAY better finish. CQ's should be back to $500 now with the Norc M4's here at $890.

But hey if you got a CQ sell it for what you want......just remember there ARE FAR BETTER choices out there now for affordable AR's.

Depends upon the gun IMHO. Some guns are collectible and as such, prices have risen.

A good example:

Do you think a like new '69 Chevelle should still sell for $2000? Of course not.

If it's a gun that can still be had new, then I agree with you. If it can no longer be had except as a used gun, then the price will be whatever the market dictates. That's life in a capitalist country ;)

:agree:

I bought a new Lee-Enfield in the wrap some years ago for $150, I sold it a while ago for about $600 (I think). I also bought a Brno Model 4 for $150 and sold it for $700-indefensible? No, there were no new Lee-Enfields in the wrap on the market, and there were no 'as-new' complete (all sights, rings, mags) 1956 Brno Model 4's available, these were sold at fair market value. Both of the buyers were happy to get the rifles, and neither one complained about, or even mentioned the price. At the end of the day, as car salesmen will tell you, a good deal is in the mind of the buyer.

I just spent about an hour and a half reading this thread..... WHERE THE FLUCK ARE THESE RIFLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And please tell me they are about $600 so I can actually afford one with about six months worth of savings.

Not to be rude , but I have never seen a used AR on here for under 1500 , alot are up to 2 or 3 thousand depending on the addons that are on it!
My cq has all newer style furniture , you can not tell the difference between it and any other 20inch carry handle AR! And I did not have to spend an arm and a leg getting it to look like one either!

They are in Canada . Dealers should be announcing them in a week or 2 . so far a price of $890.00 was announced then retracted by one dealer . We will have to wait & see . Appears to be bad timing for the dealers that are now selling Imperial Defence AR's & S&W AR's @ around $1600 . If you believe in conspiracy theories then the Norq M4's will stay under wraps thin the others are sold . Marstar has stated several times on CGN that they will be selling the Norq M4's & they will do to the price like they did for the M14's .

That looks like a 14-5' barrel, Chrome lined ? What the finish like compared to a Stag/RRA ? Does anyone know if the price is going to be $890? I think that is too high for a Chinese made gun.

??? Lever was selling them for $500 when they had there last shipment .
I paid $600 for mine with A2 furniture from another dealer last yr . So just how low do you think the price will go ??
As for the M4 as soon as they hit the market I'm in .

I think it's already here. Saw one in Lever last week still in the box (had the same manual in the pictures a couple posts back. Think they wanted $900, but that might not be firm.

Good or bad, I cant justify another grand on a restricted rifle, especially considering how expensive .223 is right now. All my funds are going towards stockpiling 7.62, 9mm and .22 before the Americans buy it all up.

890 is 600$ cheaper than a basic RRA AR from questar, then you need 14.5" barrel, collapsable stock ect. really good price to me

Okay - here is my thoughts on building your own (rough estimates - I'm sure it's changed since I built mine):

These are new parts - not used. Obviously, you might find a few cheaper if used.

Stripped Lower - $200
LPK - $100?
Bolt group - $200
Stripped upper - $200
Stock $75
Charging handle - $30
Barrel (if you can find a new 14.5") - $350
Delta Ring assembly - $30
Handguards - $30
Flash hider - $30

What's that, like $1250?

$890 ain't too bad for new. Granted, it's Chicom, but quality has improved greatly in the last few years.

I already have a 14.5" in the stable, but might buy one, sell the barrel, and put a 20" on there. :)

You can get uppers, bolts and barrels for alot cheaper then your estimates
