Best scope for Ruger 10-22?

I'm looking for a scope for my Ruger 10-22, I've never had a scoped .22. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

What are you using it for? For hunting I would use a good low power variable, 1.5-4.5 or 2-7 preferably with a 32mm objective lense. This will keep the physical size and weight down on an already light weight 22. For Target, well the sky is the limit here, I have a Vortex 6.5-20X44 that will adjust for parallax down to less than 50 yards and it wpould make a great target scope for a tricked out 10-22.

I guess it all depends on what you will do with the 22 once it is scoped.

I have a 4X Weaver "Classic Rimfire" scope on my 10/22. It's a smaller scope so it looks proportionate to the small 10/22. It is a quality rimfire scope and I find it works very well for what I usually use my 10/22 for, shooting gophers.

I had 4 different scopes on my 10/22
$50 tasco 3-4x32, 100 yards paralax,
$50 bushnell 2-9x32 rimfire, 50 yard paralax,
Bushnel (trophy??)4-12x40AO $125 used
4-16x40AO elite 4200 $400
the biggest difference between all the scopes was the clarity, and the fact with the more expensive ones you can dial in the paralax to your range (which i found was usually under 50 yards with the 22) this makes the crosshairs crisp and everything focused. so for headshots on grouse while hunting or ragged holes on paper taget shooting id say get one with an adjustable paralax (AO/adjustable objective)
dont waist $100 on cheep scopes like i did just to figure this out yourself

ive sold my bushnel rimfire but if anyone is interested ice got a tasco3-9x32 that can go for cheep

I have a silver Bushnell Rimfire scope on my 10/22 and have been very happy with it. Was easy to sight in, stays accurate, and includes a yellow lense cover for easier aiming in bright light. It also matches the stainless barrel pretty good if thats what yours is...

Get a matte Leupold 4x28 Rimfire Special for about $325. You won't regret it, and it will hold it's value.

The 4+ inch eye relief and 7mm exit pupil will be bright and mount correctly on the rifle - forward over the receiver. Either go with the Leupold matte one-piece mount and super-low rings, or go with the factory Weaver base and put matte low Weaver rings on it. The Weaver affair will get you a hair lower to the bore axis, but not much.

Nothing like a well-made, rugged scope with superb optics to shoot better.

I put on a 3X9 tasco 40mm, it is bright, cheap. ($68.00)

I use it regularly for the 100 m. targets.
