I see many people wanting and selling P Mags. Are they really that much better than the GI 20's and 30's of yesterday? I have installed anti-tip followers in most of my 'old' ones. Tastefully pinned to the proper 5 rnds. Other than a plastic window (with or without) how much better are they than say Orlites, Thermold, or many of the mil spec magazines that clutter our shooting boxes? To me it appears that P Mags are the flavor of the month and people will pay unobtainium ( a term used far too frequently as obviously stuff from the USA still flows into Kanada) prices for a $30 mag. Please enlighten me all you guys that really know.

They are MiLES better than old plastics like thermolds. I've never had issues with GOOD usgi ones with magpul followers, so I don't have much to say other than. All reviews are good.

I recently paid $50 a mag for a couple of P-Mags.

I didn't want to, Goddamnit, but what do you do. Considering the fact that it's nigh impossible to find normal aluminum mags right now, and when you do it's $40 + tax anyway, $50 a piece is on par for superior magazines.

Besides, ####'em if they can't take a joke, right?

i dont know, anti tilt followers...pmags......sure they make a difference, if the mags were not pinned to 5 rounds.........would i pay the asking price,, no way in hell, for what they bring to the table for sport shooting up here its not worth it.

just my opinion though...

I have thousands of rounds through mine and they have worked flawlessly. Alot better then the standard aluminum or thermamold mags for sure. They are a more durable mag, but $100.00 a piece is over the top. Mind you I got mine back when they were $22.00 a mag;)

If your comparing them to USGI magazines, the good ones, then all I can see is some weight savings.

I love my USGI ones, bought them off a member here and they work just awesome, the ten rounder RRA ones are also extremely reliable.
Personally I would buy Pmags yea, but I wouldn't pay a premium for them, which I'm going to guess is the case on EE right now..

I bought mine at $50 a pop...pretty much as much as I'd be willing to pay.
They work well...but so do my GI spec 5/30 and the RRA 10 rounders.
Flavour of the month.........

Pmag is heavier than USGI. FYI

The biggest advantage the PMag has over the USGI mags is the reliability of them they works under extremely adverse conditions the feed lips don't get damaged when dropped the magazine will still function when shot .Realistically as some one else pointed out it is the flavour of the month . I was in Las Vegas last week went to all the gun shops to see what they had in the way of Magazines only 1 shop out of the 8 I visited had P Mags and they had about 40 30 rnds mags in stock and about dozen 20 rnders and lots of USGI 30 and 20 rnd mags in stock, The other shops had lots of USGI 20 rnd and 30 rnd mags in stock as well as the lancer systems 30rnd . So apparently there is no real mag shortage issue any more they aren't flying of the shelves faster than they can produce then . FWTIW on the prices the most expensive mag was the Lancer Systems 30rnd at 29.95, USGI 20 rnd @26.95 ,USGI 30 rnd @ 24.95 , P Mag 20 rnd @ 22.95 and the P Mag 30 rnd w/window @ $19.95 rnd.

Unfortunately this is going to end like all the other threads on the virtues and prices of the Pmag locked

I sold a whole bunch of great 5/20 and 5/30 mags for $25 a pop late last year. Should've waited till Obama got elected and gouged the hell outta my fellow CGNers like everyone else. Oh well, at least I still have my good karma :)

wow, I thought the mags would be lighter cause they're polymer..

Just an assumption on my part.. wow, I really can't see why I would buy one then..
